🌟 Skin Care Alert: Not All Trends Are for Everyone!🌟
💡 Did you know that viral skincare products like Kojic Acid soaps can cause more harm than good if not used correctly? Here’s a quick guide to keep your skin happy:
1. Bar Soaps, especially those with Kojic Acid, might be too harsh for your face. They can strip away natural oils and disrupt your skin barrier, leading to dryness and irritation. Opt for liquid cleansers and always use lukewarm water.
2. Kojic Acid Dosage Matters: The concentration of Kojic Acid is crucial. A higher percentage doesn’t always mean better results. Concentrations greater than 1% can lead to contact dermatitis and irritation, undoing any benefits by worsening hyperpigmentation.
3. Formula and Sensitivity:Even if you don’t have sensitive skin, it's vital to spot test. Kojic Acid is not generally recommended for sensitive skin due to its potential for causing redness and irritation.
4. SPF and Moisturizer are Musts:Always follow up with a moisturizer and SPF. Kojic Acid can make your skin more sensitive to the sun, so protecting it is key.
5. Understand the Science: Kojic Acid is a tyrosinase inhibitor, which means it helps reduce melanin production and lighten dark spots. But remember, it's potent and needs to be introduced slowly into your skincare routine.
🌿 Aftercare Tips:To minimize irritation, look for moisturizers with skin-repairing ingredients like ceramides, oatmeal, niacinamide, and cica. Always use SPF during the day!
📚 Wise Choices:While Kojic Acid can be fantastic for reducing dark spots and brightening skin, it’s not suitable for everyone. Be mindful of the products you choose and how you use them.
🔍 Stay Informed and always do your research before jumping on the skincare trend bandwagon. Your skin will thank you!

Hi Dr Alexis, I am hoping you do virtual consult for skincare recommendation. Is there any way to get help with improving my skin, I only trust you?
So, she’s using that soap to lighten her complexion?
if so, that’s truly sad that our community still views dark skin as unattractive
