The Vaseline Hair Tonic! My pawpaw used to use it.🥰 It was like a hair oil that he used to slick his hair back with. It made it so beautiful & shiny & acted pretty much like a hair gel but not sticky. ☺️ That was so nostalgic for me… thank you for sharing. ❤

That type of hair product is why people put those doilies over the backs or arms of upholstered chairs & sofas. Vaseline Tonic and similar left grease stains everywhere. Those doilies are called antimacassars after Macassar brand hair oil became popular in the mid 1800s. I imagine it boosted sales of laundry products to get the stuff off hair collars & pillow cases. EW!!

I use to buy books by the shopping bag full. Then arthritis set in and had to get a Kindle. Am on my third one. Donated all books to Literacy Council.❤️❤️
Happy Sunday everyone! Oh Dr. Dray how you steal my heart! I struggle with watching a movie after reading a book and vice versa. I dream of spending the night in a library or a huge book store. I just found another used book store that’s within reasonable driving distance and I can’t wait to visit it.
It always impresses me how quiet and respectful you are in places like these, with old books and antiques. To see you very gently open a door or lift an item and carefully place it back down is something that not many people do these days. Everyone is in such a rush all the time.
