My journey to forming a daily sunscreen habit #hyperpigmentation

As a dermatologist, I cannot stress enough how important it is to make wearing sunscreen a daily habit. This is especially true if you have hyperpigmentation, which can be exacerbated by sun exposure.

Even on cloudy or rainy days, harmful UV rays can penetrate through the clouds and cause damage to your skin. By consistently using a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher, you can protect your skin from sun damage, reduce the risk of skin cancer, and prevent hyperpigmentation from worsening.

Make it a part of your daily routine, just like brushing your teeth or washing your face. Your skin will thank you for taking care of it in the long run. Stay safe, stay protected, and enjoy the sun responsibly!

sun exposure isnt just direct exposure but it can be bounced by your surroundings. this is why sun preventive habits like wearing hats and long-sleeved clothing also help.

i also personally love using sun screen even though i work in an office and have minimal sun exposure (prob 1 hr/day tops) because it kind of doubles as a moisturizer for me.
