  1. I feel like one pump of CeraVe is always my go-to amount (aka, a dime-sized amount) 😊 Thank you, Dr. Dray!

  2. Im always so confused on all the contradicting info I get. My Derm told me to make a mask with my face wash (2nd cleanser, panoxyl) and make a mask and leave for 5 mins. So I go through it like water 😅

    1. Dr.dray is providing general information. Panoxyl is great and I also go through it quickly so I can get better coverage. Listen to your derm because the advice is specific to you and the product

    2. The reason Panoxyl is often advised to be used as a mask for a few minutes is because it gives the benzoyl peroxide time to sit on the skin and work before you rinse it off. That’s great advice!

    3. Panoxyl is a total different thing than a normal face cleanser. Ask your derm, how much you actual need, because that will be a individual amount for everone.
I use about a 1 cm wide blob of it, on wet hands, it will spread very well like this and I then leave it on for 5 minutes.
But again, that is total individual and you should talk to your derm about it.

    4. this is general advice. you are getting personal care for your skin specifically so just listen to your dermatologist

    5. As someone said it’s because it has benzoyl peroxide in it. You could use a dime size amount of the panoxyl and it would still cleanse the skin but depending on you skincare concern your derm recommended to leave the wash on for a little since it is a rinse off benzoyl peroxide treatment. They just want you to get a better benefit instead of washing it off right away. I actually do the same thing sometimes but it is the neutrogena one. Use it as a traditional cleanser or a mask rinse off.

  3. Hi there Dr. Dray! I’ve always had this question about cleansing. A lot of east-asian facial cleansers market cleansers saying that they make a more “dense” foam with “smaller bubbles” that will clean skin more effectively. How true is something like this? This idea definitely popularized products like the nooni facial whip bubble maker.

    Thank you!

  4. I always see some content creators using an ungodly amount fo cleanser and it always threw me off thinking whether it’s the proper amount needed to cleanse the skin. I’m glad I got the clarification through this video.

  5. Oh god. Thank you for this rather basic info. But turns out I have been using wayyyy too much. I usually pump it out 2-3 times 😅 no wonder it took me forever to rinse off 😂
