You’re Applying Sunscreen Wrong

The great majority of people do not apply nearly enough sunscreen to get the labeled amount of SPF.

General recommendation is to use 1/2 tsp for your face, ears and neck. This often = ✌🏾+ finger lengths.
So ~1/4 tsp for face and ~ 1/4 tsp for neck!

Yes that much! It’s important to find a good sunscreen that won’t feel heavy, leave a cast or that you’ll likely try and penny pinch!

👀Did you apply the correct amount of sunscreen today?

    1. That’s just what beauty bloggers on YouTube or Instagram says but all dermatologist says otherwise maybe the two fingers for your face but what about your neck and decolletage depending on what you are wearing and it also depends on the amount you put on your fingers

    2. @Tania D I feel like 2 fingers it’s the équivalent of 1/2 teaspoon tbh but maybe because I’m pretty heavy handed. Also for mh décolleté/chest I use body sunscreen. That way I can save some face one.

    3. I guess it can be 2 fingers.. it depends on how much you are putting on your fingers.. I don’t do the two or 3 fingers I just put in my palm and just judge it..

  1. I hate this rule. 😩 Even the nicest, most elegant Asian sunscreens feel like just a bit too dang much at this amount. Try it with a typical American sunscreen and you could scrape that mess off with a butter knife. 🥴

    1. My face is way too small for that much. I did the measurements from Ramon’s video and I need a little more than an eighth of a teaspoon for my face.
