I noticed I stared getting it 3 years ago and the more I stay out in the sun the worse it gets. I hate the sun anyway so I’m really surprised I stared getting sun marks. And it’s just on my left cheek none. I wear sunscreen all yearlong. But noticed during the summer its more noticeable.
I don’t know if I have melasma or just hyperpigmentation. A few years back I had nothing now I have this darker patch on my forehead and I don’t know where it came from. Anyone know?
Re Retinol v Bachukiol (sp): I believe there is something hinky going on with approved terminology btw. I had a serum from juice beauty (ipsy) that said, in English, Dual Bio Retinol or something similar BUT the French translation said retinol & Bachukiol (lol ofc the words are very similar, it was not like only French speakers could understand). I cannot figure out why this would be, unless Quebec itself has different accuracy in labeling laws. But the main point is that I believe Bachukiol can legally be called retinol on the label as long as it’s properly listed in the ingred list. So pls warn us & remind us (yes me too, I have mom brain… he’s 23 but it’s been a long recovery 😂) to read the ingredients before buying retinoly products. Also, is there enough retinol in the gold bond to worry about sensitization? I used the age renew for 2 weeks before I realized I was wearing it in daytime & at night w glycolic & retinol (diff nights). No irritation & I use 2 sunscreens each day, and my gold bond cream (whatever variety) goes on after 2-3 other creams at night. I get boxy so I love layering creams, but it’s always gold bond at the end (urea is my hero occlusive) plus something with lots of petrolatum if needed. Dry skin, insanely arid climate.
Happy Thursday Dr Dray excited to be here. Thanks for addressing this important subject have a good night.
