  4. At 28 my acne hasn’t gone away but if I keep using it it stays in “remission” people cannot believe I have acne lol skin is so clear now but if I stop it comes back with a vengeance 💀💀

  5. The lady says that but her skin looks waxy and she literally has her eyebrows laminated which is another trend and the middle part which is another trend. . . It’s not wrong to follow trends but to speak on something with misinformation while clearly being a trend follower is CrAzY😬🤥

    1. @@stephscream yes lol most gen z don’t wear side parts, it’s not completely out but most of us know who’s millennials, born in the between, and completely gen z just by the hair. . . Of course there’s other factors but this is one lol

  6. I used Tret since 16 for acne & I’m 36 now, but ppl say I look 26 – so No. and my husband doesn’t think I have “waxy” skin 😅

  7. THANK YOU! my aunty saw that I was using a 1% retinol and she thought I was crazy! Telling me it’s gonna ruin my skin when I’m older she was like “haven’t you seen the studies??” Like what studies?! Lmao nobody knows these days that it wasn’t even made for aging in the first place, and my skin has never looked better. I get where she was comming from because I’m young but I’m 21 now with adult acne, I haven’t seen or heard once that it’s bad since in your 20s is when your skin turn over starts to slow down anyways, my family is gonna be so shocked when I look 10 years younger at the age of 30 🤣

  8. As for skincare advice, I’m sticking with the woman who has MD after her name. Thx Dr Dray.

    1. Right, I follow several derms and unless they have that credential, I take what hear from other folks with a grain a salt.

  9. Most people use it improperly because most derms don’t properly provide clear directions such as using a small amount with moisturizer and using the right vehicle such as gel or water based moisturizer for oilier skin so people end up overusing it and that causes irritation and then they exfoliate on top of that causing a waxy damaged skin look.Lets not pretend like tretinoin is a drug that is easy to use without heavily doing your own medical research to ensure proper usage tailored to your skin type and environment. This comment section and Dr dray can also use some empathy on why people complain about retinoids.

    1. Yeah for years my multiple seems never explained how it worked, or even recommended taking it with lotion! So my face would break out and the dry skin would peel off… I’d panic, quit, then start the cycle all over again.

  10. Omg I’m in my ’50s and I took tretinoin for the first time when I was 16 for acne! Just started it up again for wrinkles. It was a lifesaver in my teen years!

  11. It’s such a common thing now where people will speak so confidently about topics they know little to nothing about & then post their word salad online.

  12. I started Tretinoin at 10, my acne was pretty severe. I used it pretty religiously until about 22. Started back in my late 30s, when the hard, under the skin pre-menstrual knots started. At 60, my skin is in the best shape ever! Less is best and sunscreen is a must!
