I had lumps like this on my leg after an electrical shock to the leg changed my entire life. Many of my dermatologists insist it was just part of psoriasis and never called it anything else. The best explanation I got was the very first ER doctor saying it was an immune reaction to something. I’ve been on treatments that have helped clear some of it up but some of it left it hard to walk on that leg. My new doctors are trying to help me get off methotrexate with a new treatment and my previous doctors insisted that was the only treatment available. It’s exhausting to not be able to get sleep.
Oh my goodness- never experienced these, but good to know! Who knows what tomorrow will bring.
My mother had this after childbirth twice. After my first child was born, I got very bad joint pain and got sent to a Rheumatologist who asked me if anyone in my family had ever had erythema nodosum! I had remembered my mother talking about this and let him know. I had bloodwork done and fortunately the joint pain turned out to be from the hormonal shifts after delivery and the pain eventually went away after a few months. Thanks for doing this video and giving us all so much great information!

Wow, very informative video. I have never heard of Erythema Nodosum before. I have irregular bowel syndrome (IBS) and sometimes I believe I may have ulcerative colitis (IBD) or Crohn’s disease- further testing needed. Please continue to keep us informed how diseases may present itself in the skin so we may be aware.

I’ve had this condition three times. The first time in the beginning of my forties, one ankle swelled up so much that it became difficult to walk. Took 6-8 weeks for it to heal. My doctor said finding the cause was like looking for a needle in a haystack. Three years later I got three small lumps that didn’t do anything. They disappeared after a few weeks.
Six years later it happened again, this time worse than before. The ankle swelled up so much that I couldn’t walk without crutches. Took 4 months before it got better. Fortunately, I haven’t had any more lumps after this and hope it won’t happen again.

Thanks for posting this informative video, Dr. Dray! I had this back in November 10 days after getting the second dose of the Qdenga Dengue fever vaccine. The first dose gave me dengue symptoms 10 days after the application (fever, pain behind the eyes), and 10 days after the second application, these bumps developed on both legs.
I am so glad you made this video! I think I got one of these on the inner fatty part of my knee around Christmas time. I got it at the same time as when my varicose vein right below it flared. So I was putting a heating pad on both since they were pretty close to each other. I had no idea what that hard note was, though I knew it wasn’t a vein, this was about two months ago and barely can I say that the hard nodule has gone down in size and is almost gone. I think this is what I had!
