Why not just use regular terry wash clothes and wash them after each use? Then you’re not throwing anything in the landfill, and you get the exfoliation from the washcloth. That’s much less expensive than buying either special facial paper towels or regular paper towels. I read years ago that you shouldn’t use anything made of wood on your face because it’s rough, so that would definitely rule out paper towels, and I assume the special towels that she buys, too because I imagine that they’re made of wood pulp.
Paper fibers are actually more abrasive than the cotton. I keep one hand towel & use only to dry face, after 3-4 uses, time to wash it
There are a few derms who recommend buying soft microfiber towels like vintage cosmetic company, who have sets of 7 towels for every day. Or yes, just do some laundry.

I don’t use a towel. I wash my face and let it dry while I brush my teeth. After brushing my teeth, my face is still a little damp. I put on my serum, moisturizer, and spf if it’s day time, and I’m done!

She’s talking about towels to clean off makeup, not drying her face. Buy 7 baby wash cloths and wash them on Sunday.
I just use cotton wash cloths for my face and body (not the same one for both, obviously), and cotton towels to dry myself. Just buy enough so you don’t run out of clean towels and wash cloths, until you can make a full load of laundry with them, and don’t waste water and detergent to only wash a few.
Some are biodegradable! I use the HomerHyme facial towels. After I use the towel, I keep it nearby to clean up makeup on my hands/face/brushes when doing makeup. In the PM I find I almost always have a use for them in my routine too. Wiping down my phone or water bottle to be more hygienic, or my headphones. It’s just a damp clean towel, so I use it twice! Otherwise I use one side in the AM, and a different side in the PM 🤷♀️
Honestly I have the clean skin club towels and I love how they feel on my face 😭 I know they’re not necessary though. I do tear them in half though to cut the cost
I bought a few three packs of baby washclothes at the dollar store so I always have a clean towel to use on my face every night.
Um… does air drying not solve all of these concerns?
I use microfiber towels to take off my makeup with an oil cleanser I have 6 and just wash them weekly. I then use a new clean wash cloth to dry my face after I double cleanse. I just do laundry once a week and it keeps me in clean towels to do my skin care routine.
My mom always used the Viva brand paper towels for her face. Thicker and smoother than regular paper towels.
I use a little cotton round and just dab the excess water off my face. Using a clean washcloth is annoying because I forget how long I’ve had it and then sometimes I get lint on my face and I can’t stand that
I regularly get promotional cotton t-shirts. If they’re soft and don’t give off too much lint, I cut them into 8×8 squares (avoiding any print), and I use those as reusable towels to dry my face after washing. They’re just absorbent enough, and it’s an easy way to compliment my reusable bamboo pads in my daily routine. I use a clean one every day, and then I throw them in the warm wash with my towels, robe, and sheets at the end of the week.
