If you’re vitamin d deficient I feel like it could help. I don’t know for sure. Vitamin d is essential for hormone production in the body. It for sure cures skin redness on the face. Acne I’m not too sure 🤷. Taking vitamins only goes so far though. And you should only take what you need, too much has no scientific evidence to increase your lifespan of better your body’s natural processes, infact it can potentially harm you. However if you eating a healthy diet full of fruits and vegetables, lower in processed foods might help too. I have a reaction to processed bread that makes me break out because I’m allergic to some preservatives. Acne meds didn’t help my skin, my diet did.
Hi Dr Dray I wanted to ask you a question my sister bought me today a Vaseline men 3 in 1 for my face, body and hands but I wanna know if I can really put it in my face if I have acne.🙏❤️
salicylic acid can help with acne if your acne is mild. if your acne is very severe, you may have to visit a derm to get prescription strength meds like accutane. you can also get differin which is over the counter. differin is stronger than salicylic acid but milder than accutane. i’m not sure which vaseline you’re talking about but when i googled, it has “fast absorbing” on the label and i saw that it has perfume. i think this formulation is thick so if you also have dry skin, you can definitely put it on your face. but i personally prefer to put it on the body instead as it also has perfume. i may not have any issues with perfume but you can develop allergies to it even though you didn’t have any issues before. hope this helps.
High testosterone causes acne also low estrogen causes acne you need estrogen to help the skin not put to make to much oil but the skin cause estrogen to help it not be too dry or too oily
High testosterone often causes acne due to PCOS. Low testosterone can also be indicative of PCOS (often lean PCOS). Women with lean PCOS can also have bad acne. If you don’t want to go on antibiotics or accutane (I have autoimmune issues so accutane wouldn’t be good for me – PCOS is largely correlated with hashimoto’ss hypothyroidism), you can ask your doctor about bioidenticle progesterone. Most women have estrogen dominance, it causes a lot of other issues other than acne.
Dairy is consumed a lot in places like Iceland, and they don’t have a higher percentage of acne sufferers. When you look at maps and statistics of countries that have the most acne and countries that consume the most dairy, there’s no correlation.
@Pikachu sugar BIG TIme I have a sweet tooth as well and have to be careful because i can have disordered eating tendencies so I’m try to work on moderation so as not to feel restricted
i don’t think any product can have a negative effect to your pms. but try salicylic acid products. if you want stronger, try differin. any stronger than that you may need to get a prescription.
Which hormones cause acne and why do we treat the skin rather than the hormones themselves? Acne (+rosacea) in my 40s is very different from the acne in my teens, the products seem designed for oily teen acne not “wiser” acne!
My acne is hormonal. What works – diet (same used for insulin resistance), bioidenticle progesterone, vitamin B5 (1500-2000 mg a day – results seen after 3 months), Cod liver oil, and DIM. I got rid of my acne with all of those methods except bioidenticle hormone. I am currently trying to convince my doctor to put me on it. If progesterone is low, there will be many other symptoms.
Your PJs are gorgeous. 😍
Do vitamins help?

Never had issues with acne until I hit 30. I’m now 32 and on month 2 of spironolactone. Already seeing some major changes ❤️ nothing else helped
My experience. Hormonal and dairy products…
@patrick jackson it’s sugar for me

@JJ there are people who break out when they consumer dairy but it’s definitely not in most people.
Dairy can cause acne because of the added hormones in milk. It’s also causing early puberty in America.
What would you recommend for acne while on your menstrual cycle or pms cycle

I hate hormones. All of them 😫
