There is NO fucking way my grandparents who were married for over 60 years spoke about intimacy. In my opinion what it came down to is submission. The woman, who had no rights until the 80s, had no other choice to submit. And if they were lucky, (like my gma was) the husband didn’t take advantage of that submission and so they could live comfortably. Not happily ever after. Not fairy tale like. But comfortable. And honestly I’d rather be alone than have that kind of relationship
