A balanced and varied diet, along with a healthy lifestyle, is key to maintaining healthy skin hair and nails.

I am a board-certified dermatologist who practices integrative medicine some of the foods I eat for healthy skin, hair and nails
are blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries. Berries are high in antioxidants, which can help protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals.I like to incorporate Avocados and nuts into my meals as they are rich in vitamin E and healthy fats, which can help nourish and protect the skin. I incorporate green juice and green tea daily due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties as well as Nutrafol which is my go to recommendation for healthy skin hair and nails. Some of the star ingredients are Saw Palmetto: Saw palmetto is believed to have anti-androgenic effects, which means it may help reduce the production of DHT (dihydrotestosterone), a hormone that can contribute to hair loss. As well as the adaptogen ashwagandha, zinc an essential mineral and Vitamin D which has many health benefits and is essential for healthy hair follicles. I recommend Nutrafol so often that I keep it in my office for patients convenience.

Healthy skin truly does comes from within – a balanced diet, regular exercise, stress management, and good sleep and skin habits can do wonders for your skin's radiance.

  2. It seems redundant to take a multivitamin if your diet is that good. Maybe perhaps vitamin d supplements but eating like that should be more than sufficient for the rest of the vitamins.

    1. Thank you for comment. The saw palmetto and adaptogens are unique supplements that would not be found in a typical multivitamin. I have personally found them helpful as have my patients.
