  1. I follow Dr Dray since COVID. She is simply the best. I almost considered specialising myself into cosmetic formulation a while ago, but life moved me to physical/chemical analysis (I’m a pharmacist 👀)

  2. Main reason why Dr Dray is my favorite skincare influencer is that she really is a “doctor” first that being healthy comes first – be it mentally or physically – rather than the aesthetics.

  3. In my senior years, I developed vertical nail ridging. Not bad, but it bugs me. So, I bought a jar of Cetaphil Healing Ointment Skin Protectant. A while before I go to bed, I massage this on my nails and all around the nail, the cuticles, and sides. I also put it on my lips prior to bed. I gotta’ say this has really reduced my nail ridges. Also, I take a good amount and rub it all over my feet after showering, then put my socks on. I will keep using this year round. Hope all are staying warm!

  4. Dr Dray’s humour is under appreciated. Her reactions to the tiktok misinformation are pure gold and never fail to made me laugh.

  5. Lab Muffin had several deep dive videos this year debunking sunscreen fearmongering including a recent one on Huberman (people saying their home made sunscreen is safe because they can eat it). It’s not new but I’ve seen people pushing the baking soda face scrub.

    1. @@charlenevalentine5057 Because there is this trend to pat yourself on the back for thinking you are “outsmarting doctors who are just trying to make money off of you”. For instance, I’ve seen reputable dermatologists warn against people trying to perform certain procedures on them self at home, because they come with serious risks because they could cause injury or serious infection, and you’ll see someone in the comments say that the doctor “just doesn’t want people doing it for themselves so they can sell more in office procedures.” Ironically, the doctors are probably going to end up making more off of patients needing medical treatment after they hurt themselves with a DIY invasive procedure.

    2. Sunscreen misinformation is the worst. I was recently looking at reviews for a diaper rash cream and someone in the reviews said that they use it as sunscreen since it has zinc oxide.

  6. Thank you for the bit on DIY sunscreen Dr. Dray. I’m always amazed at how some people think commercial scientists’ work can be reproduced with NO relevant education, training or equipment. Not to mention that I personally would rather not have to take the time to make my own products.

    1. Labmuffin explained that multiple different types of specialists are involved in manufacturing sun screen .

  7. I don’t want to hear any more lies/misinformation surrounding the use of aluminum deodorants. Nothing is more terrifying than the way I smelled when I used Native.

    1. Thank youuuu! I really dislike this obsession with “natural” and “no chemicals” stuff, usually they’re not great for my sensitive skin and tend to be way more expensive.

    2. If aluminum antiperspirant actually caused b-cancer, far more men would be getting diagnosed with b-cancer because they’ve use those products with aluminum for ages. I’m so tired of willful ignorance & fear-mongering. People today are severely lacking in anything resembling common sense.

    3. I don’t know. I gave up aluminum deodorant a few years ago and no longer have underarm odor at all. It takes a year to adjust, but now I just use Megababe Sunny Pits because I like the smell (lemon). But it took at least a year to adjust.

I gave up aluminum because my underarm lymph nodes were chronically tender and swollen. That problem is completely gone. So it benefited me.

    4. The way I howled reading this comment. I always get the feeling I smell like “lavender and onions” wearing native 😂

  8. I have so much respect for you for speaking out about things and also admitting when you don’t get things right. You hold these standards not only to other medical professionals but also to your own self.

    1. She’s great. 😊 I have compared her skincare advice against so many and her recs have never failed me.

  9. Dr. Dray, you have helped me & my family with different skin conditions & possible treatments. I am so appreciative of your knowledge. I forced my husband to go with me to a dermatologist a couple of years ago and he had pre-cancer cells on his face. God Bless you!

  10. Preach, Dr. Dray! One of the many things I appreciate about you is your no-nonsense, scientifically rigorous approach, and your commitment to the highest level of ethics in the content you share with your audience. Please don’t ever change! RE: the face taping – ugh! As someone with sensitive skin and rosacea, I cannot imagine how irritating and destructive it would be to be ripping adhesive off my face and lips on the daily. Just no. Here’s to a happy and healthy 2025, everyone!

  11. thank you ! There is so much garbage online from people who have no business giving health advice ! Why is it so hard to believe that a board certified dermatologist knows more than any anonymous self important twit .At 76 I only wish I had known so much more when I was younger , my skin would be so much better . Have a wonderful year Dr Dray !!!

  12. This is the most ethical, knowledgeable doctor I’ve ever seen. It’s truly shocking how much she knows about skin and health in general. The fact that she’s willing to do a deep dive on complex issues, and speak to us as though we’re as smart as her, is very comforting. Many thanks Dr. Dray.
Also, if I watch a beauty blogger, I always back up what they say by going to your videos. You are the final word for me.

    1. I do the same! I come to Dr. Dray’s channel and to Lab Muffin Beauty Science to check for back up on what other folks say.

    2. It’s “truly shocking” that a dermatologist would have increased knowledge regarding skin? Strange times we’re living in.

    3. @@heatherh517 I think what she means is that not all doctors are able to share information in the same way. And frankly, there are some doctors who are not always so knowledgeable.

  13. I appreciate your channel because as a 26 year old woman, the financial struggles are REAL. I appreciate your sensible, cost effective, EVIDENCE BASED information on keeping our skin healthy

  14. Please make more content of this kind. It’s not only informative, it promotes critical thinking skills. Thank you!

  15. My favorite day… dr dray truth serum day… thanks once again for keeping it real in a artificial world. Happy new year!

  16. This is why I only trust you. You give thorough explanation/guidance on products. Never shoves products down our throats to make a sale. Honest & respectful. I’m glad you got thick skin to not let the criticism affect you.

  17. My mother mixed iodine with oil for tanning in the 60s. Ended up with skin cancer. Crazy trends will never die, just repeat.
