  1. I love your sunscreen videos, especially the empties videos. You always show sunscreens and companies that are new to me. I always wear sunscreen, even if I don’t use any makeup. So you show me lots of options to choose from. I may be on my way to having quite a stash! lol Thanks, and keep them coming.☺

  2. The La Roche Posay new Ultra Fluid is not only a big improvement but probably one of the best sunscreens on the market now with UV Mune 400 and uvinal a plus with other photo-stable filters make this incredible. Try the Kids Evy it’s comes in bigger bottle 😊 Happy Friday 😊

    1. @Dr Dray I think the kids one is there best one I use it daily around the neck area no white or yellow marks especially on shirt collars lol and also backs of hands! 🤓

  3. I was excited to try the Avene intense protect. However whenever I wore it it stained my clothes and my mask to the point where I felt embarrassed during the day. It gives them a yellow stain so I sadly had to pass on that one :/

    1. Agree! It completely ruined my favourite white linen blouse and two beach towels on the same day. The orange stain is impossible to remove (had to wash my shirt 4 times with very aggressive soaps at the highest temperature to see it white again). I felt so embarrassed sitting at the restaurant with my super “dirty” stained shirt…horrible feeling. Also, I felt very greasy and my eyes burned AF. After 2 months, I still remember THAT day at the beach, thanks to Avene 😅

  4. I love that Rhoto Mentholatum Sun Play, but it’s hard to get. Sun Play was my favorite this summer. There is not one single American sunscreen that doesn’t burn either around my eyes or in my eyes.

  5. I bought the Avene one for my toddler. I found good for her but on the skin of my face it looked extremely greasy. Funny 🙄 my skin is usually a combination normal and oily on my forehead. Love la Roche posay for the face and Nivea.

  6. Avene Intense Protect works well with my rosacea & sensitive eyes. My tube has 12M on it–I think that expires in a year. Avene must have changed their labeling. Happy Friday!! 😊

  7. I have 3 faves but I wear a 4 inch straight brim hat from Australia that has been treated with sun protection and I avoid the sun at every opportunity. My 3 faves are: CVS Health 45 Ultra Sheer Lotion, Coppertone Sport 50 4 – in – 1, and Neutrogena Ultra Sheer 70 SPF Sunscreen. I am a skin cancer survivor and 64 years old. Dr. Dray, please keep these videos coming, as skin cancer’s no joke!

  8. I wanted to add my two cents to Avene intense protect, because I’ve had a different experience with it, unfortunately: Im in my mid 20s and while I do not consider my skin to be oily, it is prone to breakouts. I do not wear makeup. I really hoped Avene was for me, but unfortunately I would get breakouts any time I tried to use it, face, shoulders and neck. It would just completely clog everything up. Although I will say that I also have sensitive, dry eyes, and Avene did not irritate my eyes at all, so that’s a plus. It strikes me as a product that you would use when youre outside doing stuff, because it is INTENSE (at least in my experience).

P.S Thank you so much for this, it is really super informative, and as a European I really appreciate you covering some of the Euro market as well <3.

  9. Love the Trader Joe’s sunscreen although our store has a different version (orange tube, doesn’t say Facial Sunscreen on the label). Unfortunately, our store has stopped selling it “for the season”…. argh.

  10. Great video! Sunscreen empties are my favorite! Do you recommend cut open the package to get every little bit out? Because I know sometimes when the package feels like it’s empty there’s still plenty of sunscreen inside. But I’m not sure if it’s good to use. 😊

  11. Good timing! I recently found that my daily sunscreen was causing sensitivity and redness. I’m trying some new options now, and it’s a balancing act trying to find something that doesn’t trigger acne, sensitivity, or redness AND looks good on my fair skin.

    1. @Mariya Z You’re welcome! I know how tough it is to find one! I was using the UV Clear from Elta MD which is a hybrid sunscreen but started to have issues with it causing redness after I would apply it. So, I was on the hunt for an all mineral sunscreen…tried several and while they didn’t irritate they were difficult to apply and also remove. Because I am very sensitive I kind of pat things on while applying as opposed to rubbing them in. I then happened upon Saint Jane and decided to give it a try…I have been very happy with it! I ordered it from their website but now I think you can get it from Sephora as well. Good luck!

  12. Agreed about the Trader Joe’s sunscreen! I don’t know how I used it up so quickly. I am a little suspicious about the labeling and packaging, tbh.

  13. The checkout clerk at Trader Joe’s told me that the same company that makes the Trader Joe’s sunscreen makes the Kroger one also. Both are dupes for the Supergoop. I’ve never found the Trader Joe’s one in stock but the Kroger one is amazing!!

  14. LOVE the avene one after discovering it years ago. Currently in France and hoping to stock up on some to bring back to the US.

  15. i got the sun play last time you recommended it and while it’s not my fav (a little hard to spread and feels dry going on) I did love it for the nostalgia!

it has a specific scent that, while I can’t know for sure, might be partly due to the coloring/ultramarines or mica. the smell made me remember the distinct smells of the colorful sunscreens like Banana Boat Cool Colorz from the 90s. any 90s kids should buy this for the smell and nostalgia alone! 😎

  16. Avene Intense Protect is great for sure! I am so glad I stocked up some bottles of it because they’re sold out now. Garnier Ambre Solaire Hydra24 and Eco-Designed are pretty good cheaper alternatives especially the latter due to no fragrance. Dr G Mild Green Sun Up has been great for me!!

  17. I enjoyed seeing the sunscreens you’ve been using and your thoughts on them. Thanks, Dr Dray! Happy Friday!! Hope you, your sweet momma and little Tybee have a wonderful weekend. 💞
