I feel like there is definitely a link between having melasma and being prone to perioral dermatitis. I don’t know what the link is but this is what I’ve gathered from my experience and reading the experience of so many others.
Skin flooding in wintertime helps me so much. I’ve noticed some people have their own definition of skin flooding, but the way I do it is layering a light hydrating toner that doesn’t have actives in it before I use a moisturizer.
I’ve definitely stopped all skin care when my skin feels off and just left it alone for a week or so. It sucked not being able to use my favorite products but I do think it helps. Sometimes I would use aloe vera and plain moisturizer and thats it.
Dermatitis and eczema are the hardest skin conditions. Definitely need more studies on these two. Because there’s so many forms and types 😢

I heard that melasma is an internal issue, much like eczema. So it totally could be. Heck some dermatitis could be too
