Happy Wednesday Dr Dray so excited to be here i live for this ❤️
Morning!
@@DrDrayzday ❤
Loved the funny intro! Thanks for making me giggle. 🤣
Glad you enjoyed it!
I seem to get more hangnails as I age (along with more brittle nails), so thank you for the advice.
thanks for watching
The Vaseline in stick form is perfect for the nails because it is quick, convenient, and easy to apply with less mess
Thanks
I just bought one of those sticks for a trip I’m taking since it doesn’t count as part of your liquids. But I use regular petroleum jelly with cotton gloves to avoid the mess and also the gloves are occlusive as well so it makes it work even better.
Petroleum jelly and Dr Dray? Instant click ❤
Please listen to Dr. Dray. I am a 77 year old RN. I have always had difficulty growing healthy nails. One day, while slugging under my eyes – (which by the way really got rid of bags), I decided to try it on my hands. Within one week I experienced stronger nails and now at one month – the nails are longer and stronger! 🎉❤
I’m glad it worked for you. It didn’t for me.

I do a weekly self manicure and keep my nails on the shorter side. I do weekly warm oil soaks with sunflower oil and Jojoba oil. I also use gloves when doing any wet work and always put cuticle oil and or hand cream every time I wash my hands. I started doing this after damage from Shellac nails. I no longer do Shellac nails and if I wear polish it is or no more than 5 days at a time, then leave them bare for a couple of days.
Today, I finally gave up on my nails. With age (65), my nails have become crumbly. They have vertical ridges, split, and peel – no matter how short I keep them. Yesterday, I broke a nail simply reaching into my purse! For years, I had to cut them so short to remove the crumbly bits it hurt. I use all Dr Dray’s tricks: gloves and petroleum jelly, urea and lactic acid lotion, rubber gloves when working near water…. they only helped a little. My dermatologist prescribed a costly treatment that did no good.
I got acrylic nails today. My nails are still awful, but they look better. I will have to guard against infection under the nail, of course.
Do you take collagen? Ever since I started taking collagen my nails have been less brittle and finally growing!
Anemia, hypothyroidism, unmanaged menopause, not enough protein intake, and so many other factors contribute to nails that grow out weak and brittle
Have you tried Dazzle Dry polish? I don’t work for them — but my nails used to peel horribly — DD is not damaging to nails and lasts 5-14 days and it’s NOT shellac. You remove it with regular nail polish remover, easily. No LED light used yet it dries hard in 5 minutes.
@@womanofacertainage5892 Yes, I tried it. It peeled, probably because the nails beneath the polish were crumbling. Thanks for the idea, though! This community is valuable.
@ Yes, but it didn’t do much. And my urologist instructed me to stop anyway.
The best thing for your nails and the skin around them is to rub in a drop or two of jojoba oil after every hand wash and at night use a tiny dab of Kerasal Intensive foot ointment. For great natural nail care check out videos by The Salon Life.
your personality is just the best. thanks doc
Ty for a nail video! Peeling and splitting here
I hadn’t been able to grow nails in 20yrs. Then last November I started washing my hair with Nizoral like you & other dermatologists suggested to possibly help with hair loss & suddenly my nails started to grow long, strong & about 90% of the ridges disappeared…. I didn’t do anything else different so I’m guessing it was the Nizoral as it gets on my fingers when massaging it into my scalp.
Dr.Dray was hysterical on this one. 😂
I keep my nails super short for work and my nails are ridiculously strong. My cuticles, however, were a ragged mess until I started using the Vaseline jelly stick on then at bedtime. I also keep lotion at my work sinks to remind me to use it after washing my hands. These two things have made a big difference for me. Appreciate the tips, Dr Dray! Happy Wednesday!! I hope you have a peaceful evening. 💟
First, the ridiculousness of this claw your enemy’s eyeballs out theme was exactly the laugh I needed. 😂 Second, Vaseline is truly amazing for nails. I’ve tried so many different cuticle creams and oils. Then I decided to put some Vaseline on instead, and they were the best looking nails I’ve ever had. Thank you for being awesome and bringing me a laugh!
I reached and patted Dr. Drays shoulder on my screen! LOLOLOL. I wouldn’t ever claw her eyes out! Got a good giggle!
Thank you for all of the tips. All of the time 🎉❤
Minoxidil–Who knew? Great info Dr Dray.
Oh I love it so much😂 fantastic! Thank you ❤
