I’ve combination skin btw. I don’t know what the % is, just make sure u are using gentle cleanser such as cosrx good morning gel cleanser. I’ve been using it and it’s great
Thank you! What works on me might not work on you! And especially vice-versa!! It’s scary to think about but experimenting is one of the only ways to discover!
I’m looking for a daily SA face wash but I’m afraid to pick one with 2% as it might dry my skin out. I have my eyes on the Naturium Salicylic acid body wash as it says it can be used for face and it only contains 0.5% of SA and other hydrating ingredients to preserve the skin barrier. Has anyone tried it as a regular face wash?
Salicylic acid is one of those ingredients that my skin just can’t handle at all for some reason. Best I can do is the CeraVa SA cleanser once a week at night. 💀
The strangest comment I’ve seen was from a chemist that insisted our skin becomes dependent on SA and if you use it then your skin will always need it from then onward to adequately slough skin off by itself.
good molecules has one with a lower percentage and at an affordable price. the ordinary has some 2% serums. bubble, versed, naturium, elf, etc have some also at affordable prices also. many korean products have lower percentages or derivatives of it in them also. there are lots of options out there at an affordable price and in different formulations for people out there.
I’m almost 50 years old and I’ve been using the same Clean & Clear oil-free moisturizer with salicylic acid twice a day for years. It works for me and I’d like to think that it’s the reason I don’t break out 🤣
I use the Paula’s Choice 2% and I only apply a little amount and use it almost every day, depending on how oily my face is. I have oily skin and I noticed that it’s a blessing in my routine and using the sandwich method.
Cerave SA cleanser caused a horrible eczema outbreak on my eyes but I kept using it more cautiously after that and now my skin can tolerate it just fine no issues
I’ve found I can tolerate it in face wash but I can’t use it in leave on products. Having it in my face wash keeps my breakouts under control really well
I mix a 1% SA solution 50/50 with my vitamin C suspension, so I’m applying 0.5% SA every day. Over that, when needed, I apply a spot treatment with 1% SA and sulfur. Twice a week I use the good ol’ peeling solution from TO, which has 2% SA. My skin has tolerated pretty much everything I’ve ever put on it except adapalene.
Hi Dr Dray great to be here this evening as well as earlier today. Thanks for the info about this
Sometimes I use the cream just on my t-zone where it’s a little oily.
Salicylic acid is such an inexpensive ingredient that is widely available to so many people we don’t need to demonize it!
What are your favorite salicylic acid products?
@Night Shadecerave sa cleanser
@Night Shade I use cerave as well, and I use the wash for my back and underarms!
I’ve been using salicylic acid cleanser in the morning and at night every day
What’s your skin type? Do You use 1% or 2%?

yes! everyones skin is so different!!

Always a Interesting Message Dr. Dray!! Thank You!! Love and Blessings!!🙏❤🙏
Thoughts on salicylic acid in the morning and Tretinoin at night for acne and extremely clogged pores
This is what I do. Either a SA wash or a leave on like Peach Slices toner

I envy you people who can use it more often!
Same! My skin loves benzoyl peroxide way more for treating acne. Salicylic acid just causes my skin to itch and burn for some reason.

I think I know who you’re talking about, but from her more recent videos I don’t think that’s what she thinks anymore?
@Shōsuke Yuuso is that true

I use low percentage salicylic acid (0,5%) every morning and night and my combo skin loves it

i use every day a salicylic cleanser , no problems , maybe a bit dry my face , a good cream and its fine
I use the Cerave SA cleanser every 2 days cause it irritates my skin if i use it frequently and everyday
I’ve found I can tolerate it in face wash but I can’t use it in leave on products. Having it in my face wash keeps my breakouts under control really well
