    1. Omgoodness I hear you! I moved from Monterey County in California to Stanislaus County. I have never dealt with mosquitoes 🦟 unless we were out camping! Now I deal with them everyday 😩

    2. Once, my son got bit by a mosquito and ended up with a MRSA infection. I can’t stand mosquitoes.

  1. The whole body deodorant trend is convincing people that you smell bad. It’s low self-esteem in a product.

    1. what i find ironic is in an ad for one of the popular ones the creator talks about how we have convinced people their non underarm body odor is bad (i’m not sure the exact verbage). Well, she is trying to get them to cover it up, so…….

    2. Stinky sweat isn’t even bad. BO either. When people smell like crap that’s pretty bad, but it’s usually someone who really just needs a bath.

    3. @@joyfuljaj Yep. The woman who claims to be an OB/GYN selling this junk. Ahem, if you still have odor after showering it’s time to visit the Dr. to see if there is something wrong.

  2. I think it’s funny how all of a sudden they’re marketing all over deodorant! WTH a daily shower and deodorant is enough. 🙄total marketing ploy – thanks Dr Dray!!

  3. I spend a lot of time in buggy parks, and the only way to go is to treat your *clothes* with Permethrin, and it will repel mosquitoes, ticks, no-see-ums etc. for up to 6 weeks. It doesn’t stain at all, and once it dries it has no scent whatsoever. NEVER EVER SPRAY PERMETHRIN DIRECTLY ON YOUR SKIN, it is for treating your clothes only (shirts, jackets, skirts, pants, socks… never underwear). This is one of those times it’s critical to follow the instructions on the bottle. But this stuff is what landscapers, environmental surveyers, hikers, backpackers, and disc golf players swear by.

    1. Our beach pub got infested with no-see-ums.
Haha, most patrons had not heard of the pests.

    2. I love using Picaridin when I’m hiking, but a bug net is *essential* I would actually pass away without my bug net 😂

  4. Can’t wait for the Japanese sunscreen video. Those are my favorites, especially in the summer. Lightweight and water resistant.

  5. She said “fixing” to do laundry.😁 That’s how we say it in the South. We’re always FIXING to do something. She’s extremely personable (and SUPER cute), plus she’s smart and knowledgeable. Some drs just ‘blow smoke’👎 on the Internet…wasting folks’ time.❤Love❤ her content, as well as her soothing voice.

  6. Putting all that crap in the nether regions just makes me think of the Johnson & Johnson baby powder, cancer fiasco

  7. Thank you!! Feminine hygiene sprays. Ridiculous. I am 70 and bought the hype in the late 60’s and 70’s when those sprays were first introduced. The infections I suffered were no joke and that was back in the day that you could not buy the yeast/uti products without a prescription! Oh yes. Imagine on a saturday AM suffering from this and trying to get an appointment with your doctor for the prescriptions. And you could not find probiotics or d-mannose. And there was no such thing as Urgent Care. Please consider my old pearls of wisdom. Avoid these products. You smell fine.

    1. The smell of Summers eve and FDS spray makes me gag! So many women in my family used it and coworkers. It has a distinctive smell and always drifts up from the crotch area! They must spray half the bottle it’s so strong!

    2. So glad you commented. I am 76 & remember, too, when you had no choice but go to doctor to cure a UTI. You’d be miserable until you could get in to see the doc! Listen up…learn from those of us who have a lot of life experience….& Andrea, of course.

    3. Today ob/gyn’s tend to not recommend them. There’s one channel who’s said they are nothing but a money grab.

    4. I am 70, too, and I remember needing a doctor’s prescription to treat a vaginally infection.

  8. Loved the mosquito rant ….& bugs as a snack for critters. I agree w/you, by the way! Mosquitoes can also carry heartworm which can be deadly for dogs. When I get to heaven, I am going to ask God why He made ticks, fleas, mosquitoes……they’re all awful !! And yep, I’ve experienced the no-see-ums, too…annoying pests.
Looking forward to the outing Sunday~ I particularly enjoy Sat & Sun.w/ Andrea.

  9. Thank you for today’s talk!
Can you do one on the so called old people’s smell? They say you can’t smell it on you. I just remember my Grandma smelling like Dove soap and occasionally mothballs 😂 It was a comforting smell to me 🙏🏻

  10. My Grandmother passed away from ovarian cancer that was thought to arise from her chronic, decades-long use of talcum powder. She was was always deeply fixated on avoiding potential odors. I keep worrying about all these body deodorants being problematic in the longterm.

    1. My mother passed away from ovarian cancer, too. She always used Johnson & Johnson baby powder after showering. I have no doubt that’s what gave her ovarian cancer.

  11. It’s the first time I hear the term “odor dysmorphia.” But I felt very identified. According to my father (super sensitive to smells), I always smelled bad. I even left school many times because I felt I had a bad odor, avoided hanging out with friends because of it, and bought many t-shirts because I felt they retained the smell. Many times I felt that others opened the windows because of me, and I even used daily feminine pads in the armpits of my shirts to camouflage the sweat and odor. I went to many dermatologists, and they even offered to surgically remove my sweat glands… I didn’t dare. And although I do think I sweat a lot and sometimes still feel like I have an odor (I follow all your advice against it), I believe it wasn’t really that bad.

    1. How’s your diet? People usually smell like what they eat. I should say it’s the effect certain foods can have with your body chemistry.

  12. You are such a breath of fresh air. No pun intended. I so appreciate your help and humor. Bless you.

  13. That’s also why you shouldn’t give your long haired dog a short “puppy clip” or shave in summer. The hair actually prevents the sun from hitting their skin (Ever see a purple belly on a dog? It’s sunburn). The hair also facilitates airflow around their body. Middleastern people in loose robes know the same trick.
