So true..sad to see young women trying to reach a standard that is displayed on social media…we are all unique and given special gifts and talents….read a book, take a hike, learn weight lifting, go swimming …get off the phone and computer and GO EXPLORE this great big beautiful world 😎😉♥️♥️♥️
I love your videos because you are so real. There is another dermatologist with good content but I can’t get passed the thickkkk filter on her videos I mean it’s farrrr to much
So many people don’t understand that, even as adults, we need to protect our brains from manipulative stimuli. Many people recognize when content is harmful to children, but believe themselves impervious to similar manipulation. Healthy habits make for a healthy relationship w the self ❤
I am 45 yrs old and back in my day, for example in HS, I thought all my friends were pretty and there was not much competition. That is when true friendships existed. 🤷🏻♀️ Dr.Dray used the perfect words to describe digitally enhanced people and the drastic measures people and celebrities take with surgery. 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻
We are forgetting what real people look like. We must walk away from this madness! I haven’t used IG in two months and I have never felt better in my life.
My husband is a professional art fine artist who does outdoor art shows. He sees hundreds of thousands of people walking by for the last 20 years. He said no one’s skin is perfect. He says only about 1 out of a thousand people is truly beautiful in the standard sense. However that doesn’t mean that peopls are not attractive. Two different things
Absolutely! I do have to get back on social media for work, but it’s pretty low-risk, my job doesn’t involve many of the Glam people. I mostly do youtube and reddit, i dont have IG at all. I am currently back in my verrrry rural hometown right now, where only like 10% of the population, mostly older than 50, get any “work” done and where the internet is too slow to be online 24/7. These people are not fancy but wow, lots of fresh faces 30+ (the Youngs are still doing lots of Glam makeup, which is fine, gotta wear all the glitter when your face is smooth), looking very lovely and joyously real.
So true. I’m an 80s baby. We had rollerblades, bikes. Tag! The occasional ding dong ditch on daring days. Even 90s music, banging.
I was born in 04 but I still love roller skating and riding my bike, i have a roller skating rink by my house so it’s nice
OMG when I first started watching IG videos 2 years ago I was like wow these girls are soooo perfect ….later I realized the filters

Agreed. It can really make someone incredibly depressed.
Yep. Scroll on IG for an hour. Then go out in public and see real, unfiltered, non “nipped & tucked” people. It’s like night & day.
Yes

Back then we had magazines and that still made us feel badly lol 😂 I

Could not have said it better! Thank you 😊
Social media is a double-edged sword. Use carefully.
You are so right, Dr. Dray. You promote physical and mental health.
:) thanks for watching
This is why I’ve abandoned most social media but I’m hooked like crack on dray’s YouTube channel.

As a mental health counselor in training, I applaud this 🎉🎉 don’t compare and despair, folks. You’re worth more than that ❤

She is right 🤔, this generation worrying way more about being perfect behind a camera
I don’t filter any of my pics or posts . If I’m having a great skin day or a bad one , you’ll see it !!!
This is so true. Im always worrying that a friend or a girl i saw outside is much prettier than me, etc etc
