Totally on board with the fall candle in summer!!
I love Fall scents
I am too in theory but it’s just been too hot to burn any candles!😢
Yes, Whole Foods is going to roll out a pay with your palm option. It’s already available at the Whole Foods near me in the LA area. The whole thing freaks me out. I will never do it, way too much invasion of my privacy. I even asked the employee, what do you think about this, are you cool with this? He said well it’s a convenient option but he personally would never do it and then we both laughed.
Oh wow!
This is at the location in Baton Rouge. No thank you.
No way! Won’t do.
So what is it about your palm? Like a finger print?
My hair have gotten more textured with “wise” age. (As a side note, I still wash it every day, something that has eliminated 99% of the scalp itch I used to have when I washed it 3 times a week. )
I started washing my scalp with diluted apple cider vinegar and my scalp itch is gone. I only wash my hair once or twice a week …
Right?! I’m so done with the new trends about not washing your hair every day and that it’s bad for your hair and blah blah blah 😑 We don’t all have the same hair type and we all have different hair requirements.
Plus, if you really have issues with dry ends…you can always lightly oil them or put on some hair mask before you wash. That way, the shampoo has something to grab on to, as you rinse out your hair. This worked really well for me, when I still had my long mane. I always had to shampoo 4-5 days/week because of heavy exercise.
I solved the scalp itch, (and worse, the hives, gross) by changing to shampoo with *no* sodium laureth sulfate. I had tried washing with apple cider vinegar rinse – to no avail – but SLS-free products work like a charm. I further stopped using shampoo at all, and instead use one of those “conditioning cleanser” products, and only wash 2-3 times a week now and my hair is soft and not oily. No more scalp itch or hives, and now need just one product in place of using a separate conditioner, win-win!!
Instead of the security guard enforcing a “no littering” policy they now have to enforce a “no photography” policy. Yeah…that makes total sense. 🙄🙃 AMEN to Apple’s power cords! One of my biggest pet peeves.
Yes the cords suck
It is unfortunate that the irresponsible acts of a few ruin it for everyone. Thus is happening in most public parks now. “Pack it in, pack it out” mentality doesn’t seem to exist for the majority. Most don’t even know what that means.
I’m pretty sure that, if push came to shove, a person has a First Amendment (Constitutional) right to take photos in public places, including parks – any park anywhere in the US. But, you’d need to go through the process of refusing to stop photographing, get arrested/cited, go to court, etc., to get the policy rescinded. Not everyone is willing to push back like that.
Ridiculous that you can’t make a video in a park, but leaving pilles of garbage is fine.
@Zivile Mat. leaving piles of garbage is what led to not a Leung videos
Happy Sunday Dr Dray!! Loving the weekend vlogs❤
Love your comment about the Apple power cords. I think we all share the disdain for Apple on this one.
My father is really old and well past retirement but he was always encouraged to have secretaries and research assistants do the computer work for him. He is a metallurgical engineer and has an MBA. He was slow on the computer yet very accomplished in his field. Every assistant went on to greater things. I think this was old school mentoring.
Your derm professor was esteemed enough and had been in the profession long enough to be protected by the institution. People in most workplaces don’t have the luxury of thinking that they shouldn’t have to do something.
Lovely as always to spend time with you. Imo, you are kind, wise, and generous, so when you “keep it zipped” as we all must do, I’m sure you’re only keeping rational thoughts to yourself. I feel like I did that all my life and it works for getting along with people. People like you. But it’s harder and harder to stifle exasperation as you get older, mainly on things that cause harm to us all. In “wiser” years, a lifetime of experience makes harmful things easier to recognize. And after a lifetime, it becomes harder to stifle. A recurring thought is “don’t you see where this is leading?” Then you feel like you’re becoming old and grumpy. I admire people who handle this well, and I’m trying. Still enjoy when you call things out because you care.
DRMTLGY currently has their Universal Tint sunscreen at 30% off!🎉
I am totally here for Dr. Dray making the coffee!!🎉😂
I miss it when she doesn’t do it. I find it so relaxing!
Thanks for the product reviews. I trust your recommendations completely! And thanks for letting us into your day. I find these vlogs so relaxing!
Happy Sunday everyone ! I may have to see if my Big Lots has the Pumpkin candle. I burn them year round, and always looking for a bargain, but has to be highly scented. Wow, the palm pay at WF freaks me out ! 😮
I now use DRMTLGY sunscreen and I am Fitzpatrick 4 or 5 – Black and 62- it is an amazing product. It looks like a light BB cream on my face..just a light coverage – and nice glow..thanks for the rec…I love how it looks and goes on like a good moisturizer..
Dr. Dray, it was really funny hearing about your experiences as a med student going into dermatology haha. Can you do a video on how you became a dermatologist for students who think they might want to go into dermatology?
I really love the Timeless Co Q 10 serum. I think it is really making a difference. This is my dermatologist rule. Whatever I use on the face use on my hands. My age spots have faded and I haven’t had eczema breakouts for a year now.
Dang I wish my eczema was that cooperative.
Oh, I love those Bentgo containers. I have one set in purple and another in blue. Very convenient to bring lunch to work or snacks on a trip. ❤
My mother is in her 90s and has been using crystal deodorant sticks for the last 30 years. It works well for her. I tried one for a few months and the crystal salts did not stand up to the Texas heat and humidity. I don’t mind sweating but it did not reduce or prevent underarm odor for me.
22:07 Hair becomes more curly with age for some people (if you have heterozygous genes for curly hair…which if you have wavy, then you could). :) Same thing happened to me. I’m 44 so I now treat my hair more like a wavy to curly type. I have a wetbrush in the shower, only brush it when it has conditioner in it. Flip hair and scrunch wringing out the water, put in microfiber towel while getting ready. Don’t brush…you can blow dry with a diffuser or air dry.
I was just in Whole Foods and I bought the Acure tranexamic acid serum and Acure Alpha Arbutin serum for $10 each. I asked the staff why it’s only $10 and she said they won’t be stocking those products anymore.
I enjoyed this vlog Dr. Dray. My favorite videos of yours are your vlogs showing your skincare routine (AM & PM) and products used. Thank you.
