Growing up in Sweden, one of my earliest and fondest memories is doing a 2-step skincare routine with mormor (mother’s mother/grandma) in her tiny bathroom. Late 70s. We would just splash our faces with cold water, a little bit of bar soap, rinse and pat dry. Then came the most magical part. Oil of Ulay. She would gingerly take out the beautiful little glass bottle with it’s soft pink content from her medicine cabinet and unscrew the lid. We would first smell it because it was our favorite scent in the world, so floral-y and subtle. Then she would put some in our hands and we would gently pat it on our faces. My eyes on her the entire time to ensure I was doing it just like she was. She would always say that this is how it feels putting a cloud on your face and we felt like we were movie stars ✨💕🌸

My grandmother used Oil of Olay. Night of Olay to be specific. She lived to be within a few weeks of 102. People would look at her, say she didn’t look almost 102.

Love the throwback of glass bottles of Oil of Olay. My beloved mom used it & I remember it like it was yesterday. She was beautiful and had great skin to the end of her life (95 years old)
My grandmother used Oil of Olay every day. And she had beautiful skin – I remember that “rose” smell of the product. Nice but perfumy. When they changed the “formula” I remember she wrote the company a letter of disapproval! She said the product had become sticky. Eventually she moved on up to L’Oreal! My grandmother lived to be 98 and exercised every morning and said her prayers every night. She died wearing earrings and a girdle!! A lovely person of great discipline. We all miss her so much. When people asked her why she looked so young – she would laugh and say – Oil of Olay. ❤💌
Oh my gosh, you described my mother! She would wash her face with Ivory soap then use Oil of Olay in the glass bottle and wore a girdle every day; she had the most amazing skin and did not look her age at all.
Wow, I have such a similar story! My mom passed at 98 and she had great skin.
I really enjoyed that Proctor and Gamble information. I’m sure that here in Australia Oil of Olay was Oil of Ulan which I used for years until I began to react to it with red and burning skin. My guess was the recipe was changed so I didn’t use it again. There are so many good products now, the choice is mind blowing.
