I was very pleased to watch this video and very interested in your advice. The reason for this being that I was diagnosed with Grover’s Disease many years ago by a Professor of Dermatology. I am 73 years old, female, live in the north of my country, not a sun worshiper and have suffered from a variety of other skin conditions during my life. Grover’s Disease affects most of my body and via Dermatology, I have tried various treatments. Now, I am treated with a small dose of roaccutaine. This has proven to be the best option at keeping the condition under control for me. I watch your videos and find them extremely informative and helpful. Thank you xx.

I have self diagnosed itchy red bump disease on my lower back which for decades got way too much sun and now often gets sweaty from constrictive clothing, laying around and occasional hard work. It’s a difficult area to see and reach. I’ve been using CeraVe SA cleanser on it in the shower with a loofah – which offers some relief, but doesn’t get rid of it. GRRR. Now that I’m a derm, I will consider a steroid cream and less alcohol. Thank You.
I was diagnosed with Grover’s by a dermatologist. I am one commenter who requested you do a presentation for this. Thank you for the information.
I was offered 0.2% triamcinoclone by the dermatologist, but did not buy it as it was $100 per tube and the 0.1%, that I do use, is not effective at all.
Tea tree oil, Udderly Smooth lotion, vitamin E oil, mineral oil, Gold Bond Age Renew and Equate Healing Ointment- Skin Protectant help most to lessen the itch.
Sometimes the itch is a painful pin prickly feeling. Sometimes the sensation is referred from where the skin has bumps or sores to another area.
See a doctor???? The doctor, after looking at the area, said to me, “It’s not life threatening”.
No alcohol in 38 years. Almost no sun exposure on my abdominal area in decades.

Thank you for sharing what works for you. People need to share what works or doesn’t because most doctors don’t care or don’t know, just want the insurance payout. (Not talking about Dr. Dray who is generous with information!)
My 72 year old husband was diagnosed with this last year. He has suffered so much, and nothing has really helped very much. The itching can be very intense, and even wakes him up from sleep and he has trouble going back to sleep. He has used the cortisone ointments and lotions, Pramoxine, Sarna, and his doctor even ordered a special compounded steroid cream that included menthol. The cortisone creams work the best, but none of them last that long. He has it on his back, stomach, and sides. The back will get better and the stomach will flare up. He has tried blue light therapy and also green shakes made with fresh cilantro, which somehow helps to chelate metal (mercury). That helps a little. His sweat has always had a metallic smell. Thank you for discussing this. I don’t understand why the scientists can’t figure it out. Is there a concern related to daily application of the steroid creams over such large areas of the body?

A simple hair dryer helps control the itch and is especially good for reaching the skin on the back, trunk, and scalp. My theory is heat breaks down the sulfide bonds in the HISTAMINE molecule that is actually causing the itch. Helps with the intense itch of shingles and chicken pox.
