  1. Shout out to my PCOS 🙃 Zinc supplements have greatly reduced my nodular jaw acne though.

Edit: Talk to your doctor before you start taking random supplements someone tells you about on the internet please, but I take 10-15 mg of Zinc Gluconate. Seriously, talk to your doctor. This can be quite bad for some people.

    1. how long can you take zinc supplements for tho? i’ve been using zinc and vitamin a oral supplements for my acne and it has greatly reduced the amount of active pimples i get. But i have heard that it shouldn’t be taken for long periods of time ?

    1. I liked it but it dries me out so bad. I found snail mucin to be good with acne control, lightening, and hydration but it doesn’t give as fast of results.

  2. I never had jaw line acne until I started menopause 😂😼‍💹 It’s died down now, finally. But now my already-dry skin has now gone into barren desert mode and is woefully dry, even with the for-dry skincare I use. 😖

    1. Oh God. I have been dealing with acne for 20 years and my hope was menopause would be the time where it would all get better 😂. Acne wise, I mean.

    2. I’m 67 and still have acne breakouts â˜č I thought this would be over yrs ago. I’m currently taking Spirolactone. Yet even with this and good skin care, I’m still getting zits. It’s always made me feel very self conscious 😞

    1. @deedee2218  it balanced my hormones, cleared my skin and swelling. U apply it on neck, chest, wrist, stomach and thighs. Alternating each day

  3. What are some good solutions for this?

    – I’ve tried Accutane, but it came back and am unwilling to go on it again during side effects.

    – Same with hormonal birth control. Every single kind somehow disrupted my other necessary medications from working effectively

    – I’m currently on Spironolactone, and that works great
except for the week leading up to my period. I still get a good bit of cystic acne during this time

    – I use retinol, but due to the point above, it is not effective in preventing the persistent ‘hormonal’ acne.

  4. Hi dr if someone has normal serum testosterone but some other symptoms of pcos like scanty periods, peachfuzz type hair growth on face chest belly, hair thinning on temples, cystic acne then what’s the cause, my dr got hormone levels checked and again put me on third round of accutane

  5. I think you are definitely right doctor cuz sometimes, I do get one or two pimple on my face on periods but not on regularl basis.😊😊

  6. Thank you, Dr. Dray . My situation has improved with this problem. I tried some of your tips and I’ve had good results.
    With gratitude 😊

  7. I tried differin, but it made my skin so dry even when I used it sparingly and over moisturizer
 it worked
but the side effect wasn’t worth it either

    1. It goes away as the skin adjusts, but yes some people might not have the patience to go through that process.

    1. Hi! No PCOS here, but 3 rounds of Accutane and I still have acne. It worked like a charm until it did not. I never got to the root cause so I think with PCOS you need to do the same.

  8. I don’t have PCOS. I am at my 30s. Suddenly I am breaking out. I really can’t find the reason. My skincare routine is very simplified. I only use one active ingredient that is tretinoin. But my skin’s getting cystic acne all of a sudden. My skin feels oilier than before and also I am facing hairfalls. What’s happening to me? 😱

  9. My acne at the ahe of 34 looked just like this one, only tretinoin worked and it worked like magic. Tazorac or differin made it worse. Glicolic acid didn’t do anything. Only tretinoin helped and resolved the problem. Visible results in a week, problem resolved in one month.

  10. Not all are hormonal ❀ due to ginger shot my acne cleared from forehead and chin but not from cheeks 😱

  11. Absolutely, a while ago I commented that I had acne but never hormonal acne. But I quickly corrected my mistake, all acne is hormonal of course. It’s just that when you don’t know the right words and try to describe what you experience, such mistakes can happen until you knoew better. Learning never stops
