Good Morning Dr. Dray🌸and to everyone watching🌷Happy Thursday!
Morning!
Hey doc!
For fighting acne, is it better to use salicylic acid in a face wash every morning or as a leave on exfoliant 2-3 times a week (like Paula’s Choice)? Or does it actually not make that much of a difference how it’s used?
it varies from person to person
Morning Dr.Dray! My bf bought the dove dandruff shampoo by accident and so I’ve been using it. Wow, my hair is soft! I don’t know how it’s different then regular non dandruff shampoo but a happy accident 😁😁have a fabulous day! 💙
Hope you’re all enjoying your Thursday xo
Happy Thursday, Dr. Dray and Friends!🎊 My super fine, thin hair has improved greatly since using a microfiber towel and blow drying at the cool setting. I’ve used the Irish store (😂😂 oh dear, I am dictating this and what I meant to convey was ‘’iRestore”… but ‘Irish store’ was so funny I could not delete it.😂). Anyway, I’ve been using that device consistently for six months and have seen noticeable improvement in my hair thickness and texture. My stylist agreed that not using hot tools on wet hair was probably as important as using the iRestore. Your advice has really improved the quality of my hair and skin. Thanks so much, Dr. Dray!💕☮️💜
I totally agree with everything you said☺️👍🏼 I used to only get my hair trimmed once a year, but I quickly learned that regular trims every 6-8 weeks, even just a quarter-inch off the ends definitely helps my hair against frizz and ensures my split-ends are at a minimal. It’s also just easier to brush through and style 💇🏻♀️
Air drying isn’t so great either. You can’t win! I go for microfiber towel and a blow dryer with a diffuser + heat protection. As an aside, when it comes to all these lawsuits against hair care brands : It boggles the mind that the first and only thing some people do when they experience hair loss, is suing whoever makes their shampoo. And don’t they have to actually show evidence linking the hair loss to something about the shampoo (and rule out other possible explanations?)
Yes, I agree w/what you said about suing. My thoughts exactly.
I remember seeing advice for swimming and protecting hair to dampen the hair, place on hair conditioner and then put on swim cap. Even without using the conditioner, supposedly dampening the hair makes the swim cap easier to put on.
Getting the hair wet with tabwater first, also prevents the hair soaking up water with chlorine in it. I’ve found that for really good protection, a bit of Vaseline around the edges is best. Conditioner rinses out too easily.
Thanks for your empathy. Yes it is just hair but it does demoralize a person and when it is dismissed as vanity it is very frustrating.
❤
Really enjoying the hair content because it is VERY difficult to find a reliable sources online unlike skincare and oral care <3
There are dermatology channels that specialize in hair as well.
Hi Dr. Dray,
After telogen effluvium, does the hair often grow back in a different unruly pattern or texture?
I hope you are having a great day. Thanks in advance ❤
I went through a period about 15 years ago where I was losing hair like crazy. I lost 1/4 to 1/3 of my hair. It was very traumatizing.
Putting my hair up in a silk bonnet and putting oil on it before washing has helped my hair so much.
Wow, this is so interesting! I try to limit my use of hot tools on my hair: only use my hair dryer when needed on a low heat (I try my best to air dry!) and only occasionally use hot rollers on special occasions
I have naturally dry & curly hair and straightened it for many years. It was a lot of work blowing it straight with a blow dryer, then smoothing it out with a flat iron. One morning while sitting at my desk at work I could smell my burnt bangs. 😵 It smelled like burnt rubber! That was my epiphany, I never straightened my hair again. 😧 It took many months to restore my curls back to an even pattern over my entire head.
I have very long hair and around 2 years ago I started using a Turbie Twist to mostly dry my hair after watching you use similar. Then I use Naturtint CC hair protectant (it’s meant for coloured hair tho I don’t colour my hair anymore) Brilliant stuff. It’s really helped prevent hair breakage every time I brush my long hair. It’s helped slow down my hair loss caused by lupus.
Thanks for the hair care tips, Dr Dray. Happy Thursday! Hope you have a tranquil evening. 💙
As an ObGyn doctor-patients come to me for hair loss-I do lab work which usually is normal, take history then send to my favorite competent Dermatologist but this video-good daily lifestyle – hair care activity to talk about and monitor for my patients. Many thanks
Also I tried to nominate you for Harris County Media award but they said you are not member. Your videos help me care for my patients-significantly. Thank you from fellow colleague.
Thank you so much! All this time I’ve been changing shampoos, spent enormous $$$ into hair care that just hasn’t been working! All this time i had no idea that my hairstylist and i have been mistreating my wet hair with high heat! No more high heat on wet hair for me – thank you Doc!
Thank you for the hair care tips, Dr Dray! ✨
