That’s nasty too and can cause infections. Use a tiny amount of Kerasal Intensive Foot Repair Ointment on the cuticles every night to keep them hydrated and prevent hangnails.
If skin is purging from adapalene usage(beginning weeks) do we just leave the acne alone and it will disappear on its own with continuous use of adapalene?
I have both acne and dermatillomania, and I’ve tried everything to stop picking my skin, including exactly those pimple patches, but they just don’t work. I don’t even know what to do anymore.
It’s called dermatillomania similar to trichotillomania. SSRI’s help and watching pimple popping videos (I know it’s disgusting) has helped me. It’s stopped me from picking at my own skin. Thank you for addressing this emotionally painful, and not talked about disorder.
Il’m an influencer too, doctor. I’m going to do a video on it. It’s a very painful, lonely disorder. Thank you for bringing attention to this problem. 😊❤
I put this patches on spots my daughter has picked at on her arms and legs to help them heal faster. They also remind her that she’s doing it and she doesn’t usually peel them off. She has fidgets and snap bracelets and stress balls. She’s bit even aware she’s doing it. It is getting better. She does fine in the summer, but when school starts she’s back to picking. At the worsts she’s had 25 active sores. She’s young. Grade school. It’s heart breaking.
She’s in therapy and we recently put her on an antidepressant/anxiety medication.
@@turnbacktime65 thanks. When it’s colder, long sleeves and pants help. It started with a little sore on her forehead when she bonked it on something and she kept it open for months. We tried everything to get her to stop. She has a scar there. She has scars on her arms and leg and hands. It breaks my heart. I shared in case anyone else can benefit from what we’ve tried. Hers is triggered mostly by anxiety mostly, but possibly a compulsion as well.
Hi doc❤ do you have a video on how to get off birth control when you got it for acne many years ago? I find this topic extremly difficult to research since it is either presented as all good or all bad (I don’t like to call medication ”toxic” for example). I started at 17 and now I’m 42. I so so hope you can adress this 🫶🏼❤️
If I don’t pop my pimples, they don’t really go away or take *FOREVER* to go away with just spot treatment. I usually just pop them until the gunk is all gone and I see blood, then I put on spot treatment.
What about skin picking cuticles/finger skin?

I need this I’m picking at my scalp bad
Oof, you’re not alone. I catch myself doing it not even aware😕

I thought hydrocolloid patches didn’t work for blind pimples

I caaaaaan’t!
I absentmindedly pick at the pimple patches as many brands are raised then oops it’s off completely 🤦♀️

What a great idea to watch those videos. Sounds like you’re making positive steps forward. Good for you!❤😊

Sounds like you are being good parents to me! Medication and support. ❤

Acne > depression > anxiety > picking skin > more acne > anxiety > depression > more picking > more acne > more depression > more anxiety > ♻️

Wish I had hydrocolloid patches when I was a teenager!
