I have started using vaseline religiously because of you! My skin feels so much better
It is so versatile!
Whats it for?
Me too! I told a group of ladies who complimented me on my skin; their jaws dropped! ❤
I started using Aquaphor on my face and it dramatically improved!!!!
Me too
Hi Dr. Dray! When I tweeze my eyebrows and upper lip, the skin gets irritated and flakey. La Roche Posay Cicaclast Balm really soothes and calms the skin there. Have a great day!!
One of my mom’s doctors told her once to just soak her feet every night to get rid of cracked heels. She tried it out and swears by it! No pumice stones, scrubs, or cheese graters needed 😅
Exactly! People don’t bathe enough.
@@brigitte9382
Soaking feet at night doesn’t mean people don’t “bathe.” 🙄
I take a long, hot bath twice a day and my heels are still pretty cracked. I think it’s from being barefoot all the time, though.
@@Kirsten_is_cursed10I noticed you used the word “hot” too, to describe your bath. That and going barefoot are definitely factors
Cheese graters?!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Oooo we NEED a video on how to not land in this“Skincare Jail.” Lay down the laws doc!
lol
Hi, Dr. Dray, I don’t know if you covered this before, but I recently tried Aveeno’s fragrance free body wash and I was getting flare ups with my eczema and possibly fragrance allergies! 😮 I found out they reformulated the original formula, and the new formula contains fragrances, despite still being marketed as “fragrance free”. (The fragrances used are pelargonium gravelens flower oil and commiphora myrrha oil, both of which are essential oils used as fragrance).
Could you possibly go over how companies are allowed to do this? I feel like it’s extremely unethical, but apparently I found out they can be marketed as “fragrance free” if they use the fragrance in a non fragrance manner (ex: claim the essential oil ingredient in the product is for a different purpose besides smell)
Google is your friend
@@user-jx1cz3fe6e I posted this to bring attention to the subject because Dr. Dray is always recommending us to avoid fragrance and seek fragrance free skin care, yet companies have taken a sneaky route, which I don’t believe dr. Dray has covered yet
I was using their body wash. The ingredient cocomidopropyl betaine is in there and I avoid that ingredient. Dove puts it in their products too. 😒
Cosmetic chemists have said that companies reformulate all the time and don’t necessarily have to say they have. Also, even so-called fragrance free products will sometimes contain things that are used as masking scents but not listed as fragrance. So if you’re using fragrance free or unscented, you’ll have to get into reading the ingredient list and doing some investigating because it’s left up the company to decide how they label things.
@@db-gb5xi yes, I’m aware of masking fragrance, but thank you for the info! The body wash does not mention being scented or containing masking fragrance 😦 just that it is “fragrance free”, which is a terrible lie. I will definitely start reading the ingredient list now
I did not know they did not have to announce if they reformulate 😢 that’s a bit sad if you’re like me with severe eczema and it’s difficult to find something that doesn’t irk my eczema. Thank you for your comment. I learned a lot
I used to thoroughly enjoy sanding my skin when I was 18, using St ives Apricot Scrub, thinking the harder I scrubbed – the clearer and brighter my skin would be lol
The Millennial Curse lol 😂
Ah, that takes me back. Would that I’d known better.
@@dianarusnov292 Lol haha‼
We’ve all been there
😂 you did get me… I was about to do a side eye 😒. Love watching your videos❤
My skin is dry and dehydrated and use Cetaphil gentle cleanser. From the retinoid and glycolic acid I use, my skin started flaking and peeling. And I did find the flakes got worse with scrubbing my face. So now to minimize the flakes, I use jojoba oil first and then cleanse. It made a world of difference. I’ve learned that jojoba mimics sebum.
Dr. Dray you are the OG I tried your trick to use a face mask after I put on my eczema face cream that just didn’t seem to be working, I was still itching a lot and the skin keeps flaking. I tried the mask last night and I finally was able to sleep without wanting to scratch the skin off my face. I cannot thank you enough. ❤
I put a cleansing oil on dry skin, and rub for a few minutes before washing my face. You’ve mentioned how the oil can “slip” between layers of dead cells and help them come off. It’s worked so well!
Nickel. I once had an atopic dermatitis “attack” after I placed my hands on a shopping cart. Thank goodness I found some Cortaid very, very quickly. I have sensitive skin so this wasn’t a complete surprise, but for a few minutes, I was beside myself.
I am 60 years old and only today learned what a hangnail is. I always thought it was part of the actual mail rather than the skin around the nail. I have been picking at the skin around my thumbnail FOREVER, making my hangnails constantly worse. 🤦♂️ I finally know how to heal and help prevent these (tho stopping a 60 year habit is daunting).
We always learn ❤
Don’t use harsh cleaners like Barkeeper’s Friend without gloves. I was cleaning out a vase and swishing around the water and cleanser mixture with my hand. I took care to rinse well but 2 or three days later I had the most painful ingrown nail sensation. Since it was only on the one hand I used I realized later what I had done. The crevice where the nail meets the skin does not rinse easily. The oxalic acid in the product is very effective at cleaning things like hard water spots and stainless steel but even a little bit left on the skin is not something you want. I would put this in almost the same category as oven cleaner. Use gloves.
You talked about salicylic acid face wash irritating the eyelids, and that has been happening to me. Thank you for mentioning that. I have seborrheic dermatitis, and I thought I needed to put various treatments around my eyes too. It wasn’t going well… The derm that diagnosed seborrheic dermatitis in my ears, didn’t tell me anything about what to do for face or scalp. I was too overwhelmed with just the info about my ears, I didn’t think to ask. There’s no follow-up as the derm practice is so busy, so I’m trying to price things together. Thank you!
Dr drays skin just keeps getting better 💖
Thank you Dr. Dray for sharing this information with us. I personally don’t try every new skin care or cosmetics that are claiming to be new and improved. So many products out there, the choices can be overwhelming for some. The Neutrogena brand and Vanicream are my beloved favorites 🥰 Keep smiling everyone 🌹
I placed myself in the skincare maximum security prison last year when I started to skip my nighttime routine (unintentionally but consistently) The next day would always feel off because I didn’t wash all the skincare, oil, etc. off my skin the night before. I really would love to hear tips about how to stay consistent at night. My issue was that I would lay in bed telling myself “only for a minute” and the next thing I knew, it was morning lol
I think some of the productivity gurus say that a good way to build habits is to associate it with something else you already do (eg do your skincare right before brushing your teeth), some people also do their night routine a little earlier, you don’t have to it 5min before bed, for most things it’s still effective if you do it before dinner. Hope that helps with some ideas! :)
I do my night time skin care after dinner and before I get tired.
I watch YouTube videos like this one on my phone while doing my nighttime skincare before bed and it helps hack my brain into thinking it’s a little treat instead of a little chore haha
I wash my face right when I get home so that it’s done and I don’t have to do it when I’m sleepy.
Thank you Dr. Dray for being an international detmatologist for everyone. I am currently on Accutane it’s my 9th day today. I am doing everything you have taught us in your Accutane related videos. I want to know if I can use vaseline on my face during Accutane-purge phase as well…or should I let it pass and then start applying it all over my face and neck. I have had mild to moderate persistent acne for almost 11 years now that did not respond to other trratment modalities hence my dermatologist put me on 20 mg.Accutane.
Thanking you all the way from india.
I started my third course of isotretinoin just because of your videos❤ will always be thankful to you, unfortunately i got scarring but hoping to get rid of that too inshallah
I am so pleased to see Dr Dray looking so healthy compared to her previous old videos ❤️❤️
