  1. Hey, I would love if you could cover ways of healing post-inflammatory hypopigmentation. As far as I know there aren’t great, inexpensive solutions. I would be really interested in learning about cutting edge treatments.

    1. @Dr Dray Thanks for answering! I didn’t know that. I’ve had some post-inflammatory spots that have been around for at least 9 months. maybe longer. What is the average time course for resolution? I thought it could be permanent when the melanin producing cells were destroyed, but I might be wrong.

  2. Such interesting points about applying deodorants when battling eczema flair ups. I was once misdiagnosed and given an antibiotic cream that made my skin blister. It was very uncomfortable. You provide great guidance, thank you!

  3. This was so insightful. I once tried to handle a flair up on my own and thought I was doing ok. I went to my derm thinking I had it under control and he was like nope you’re pretty bad and ended up on cycloporine.

  4. This line of Cetaphil haven’t yet entered my country. But now I’m using Aiken Derma Care (sensitive skin rescue) hope it works well on my eczema. Thank you so much Dr for this vid šŸ’žšŸ™ŒšŸ»

  5. I had really itchy eczema in 4th grade and it sucked. I suddenly started getting really itchy. I noticed I had these little patches of bumps in a few places, and the itch was so bad I couldn’t focus on class because scratching it made it more itchy. Unfortunately it was in my crotch and thigh area, and I think a bit on my arms. Saw doc and used Lanacort until it went away. I still have no idea how that happened and haven’t had it since. My parents said when I was a baby I had spots or a rash where they had to bathe me in some kind of medication to fix it, so maybe I’m predisposed for skin issues :0

  6. Thank you Dr Dray for sharing this informative video . When my son was younger his pediatrician mentioned at that time he had Atopic Dermatitis. Eczema, Asthma, food allergies, cats and some dogs can cause allergies as well. My son is older now, he still does have eczema but not as much as he did when he was younger. The Cetaphil Restoraderm creamy body wash & moisturizer are the products that my son still purchases regularly. Fragrance free products are always in my house, my skin is sensitive too. Take care everyone 😊

  7. I just read the title, I want to thank you for educating us! My daughter has bumps on her elbows and I was told it is eczema, so I felt compelled to see your video

  8. Thank you for the video. Dealing now with the aftermath of the water blister eczema on the finger and didn’t dry in between fingers properly and have cracked skin between the finger. Your videos have been very helpful. Thank you.

  9. Thank you, Dr Dray! I was wondering how you treat dermatitis when a person breathes in scents? I can’t use scented candles. What do you do if scents come your way like highly scented dryer sheets or laundry detergent. My neighbors have their laundry room next to my backyard. The itching is intolerable.

  10. I just realized I’ve been using a skin care regimen my whole life šŸ˜‚. Having eczema as a very small child I was taught how to prevent irritating the moisture barrier by using dove sensitive and eucerine Cream, etc…. Im 43 and just realized this 🤣

  11. OMG! Thank you so much for this video. I have seen so many doctors about eczema and water blister and I’ve never got so many good tips!

  12. I also recommend wearing gloves when doing your face skin care routine if you have hand eczema. It made a big difference for me. All this water, soap, cleanser, active ingredients don’t need to end up on my sensitive hands as well.

  13. Thank you so much for so much great info Dr Dray! My preteen has had eczema for the last 7 or so years at first misdiagnosed as molloscum šŸ˜¢ā€¦ odd how he didn’t have it as a baby but suddenly in elementary school. it’s def not as severe but so stubborn and so itchy for him :(. Thank you for recommending the Cetaphil Restoraderm line- just ordered the gel and cream to incorporate it into our aveeno/aquaphor regimen especially going into colder temps to come in the Midwest. Appreciate the content so much!

  14. Thank you for your videos about eczema. I had eczema develop on my hands in March 2020, I have it mostly under control but it’s still annoying. But the frustration is with the dermatologist (that my insurance covers). All she said was ā€œeczema can’t be cured, here’s some steroid creamā€ and recommended an occlusive moisturizer (that had fragrance???) and basically like, you don’t need to come back unless you need more steroid cream. I don’t even think she looked at my hand because I wasn’t even sure I had eczema! I learn much more on videos like this because I’m just brushed off by the derm.

    1. I got my hand eczema recently from detergent and when i wash my hands frequently.. ointment cant rid them completely others use hydrocortisone and they say it keeps coming back..

try to boil some some dried cloves when your clove water becomes light brown in color pour it on the big container once your hand’s skin can stand the heat of the hot clove water soak both your hands you can feel some itchy parts react on the heat it feels like it scratch those affected parts until the itch go away.. then off the water for a few seconds then put em back soak them again until you cant feel the itch.. then stop.. pat and dry.. it will help to dry out those blisters and smoothen the affected area.. after the soaking just gently path and dry.. then put hand moisturizer and wear a cotton gloves at night before you sleep just do this before you sleep..

I only use pertrolleum jelly and sunflower oil to moisturize my hands.. if the affected area started to dry and becomes flaky that means it works just gently scrub it using sugar and sunflower oil.. lastly i guess we also need to take biotin or collagen 1&3 powder.. im only taking collagen 1&3 coz im having breakouts with biotin so it depends what works for you.. i hope it helps..

My hands right now are dry but at least no flare ups.. the affected areas are smooth.. i scrub them using sunflower oil and sugar when i see some flaky on the affected part.. we shud also needed to get enough sleep.. i guess stress and lack of sleep has a big factor that contibutes the flare ups..

P.S. if your hands has blisters do this in the morning and at night but if the areas are already drying and healing becoming a bit flaky no flare ups just do it once and the best time is at night..
Trust me it works.. i only tried this just a few days ago.. today is my 4th day.. yesterday I started to do it once just at night.. sorry for my english its not my first language, hope you understand what i wrote.. 😬 hoping we yall be healed.. šŸ™

  15. Dr Dray, would you please discuss hidrocystoma under the eyes: what it is, how to prevent, treatment options. Thanks!

  16. Can you do an AM and PM anti age skin care routine for atopic/eczema. I’m 53 and atopic crept into my life 5 yrs ago. Finally diagnosed 2 yrs ago. Great video def going to get those products to have on hand. Sounds like the cooling one may work on eyelids when it invades them. 😢 I had to use steroids a few times and inHATE doing that. Yes under Derm supervision as u always reminds us. hugs from Tampa

  17. Started using cotton gloves and cerave ointment per your recommendation. Such a game changer. You’re saving my skin šŸ™šŸ™šŸ™

  18. So interesting how far the medical community has come with eczema. My doctor said I had ā€œmother’s handā€ after the birth of my son 46 years ago. I suffered for years trying to control it. Doctor said to wear rubber gloves, and didn’t soak/wash diapers in ammonia (yep, that’s what we did back then!). Believe it or not, years later when tanning in a tan salon getting ready for trip to the islands, the eczema was healed. Doctor said UV rays helped!! Crazy! But it did subside and has never returned. P.S. I DO NOT visit tan salons any more!!! I drink a glass of apple cider vinager, baking soda and a bit of honey to taste to control the Ph balance in my blood, which seems to keep my skin at its best. Thank you, Dr. Dray. I wish I had you 46 years ago! 🧔

  19. You just explained my whole childhood skin problems. I still get flair ups in the winter. And I have allergies and asthma as an adult.

  20. Ive had eczema on my arms my whole life but never had any issues with it, it was never itch, never really flared etc. But just last year I developed contact dermatitis on my eyelids, that healed up with some hydrocortisone cream but then For the next 8 months or so I started getting a small dry patch on my forehead that kept growing and then moved down to my cheeks and I had no idea what was happening. The patches started getting itchy and red and felt like they were burning and eventually developed this yellow film on top and I felt horrible…. I hate using steroid creams but the only thing that seems to help is the 0.5% hydrocortisone… Still trying to wean myself off it with skin barrier creams and eczema creams..
