what gives the zinc oxide the ability to go from something like a rash cream to an spf? is there other ingredients in the sunscreen that stabilize it or does diaper rash cream have some sort of spf coverage?

I think it depends on the percentage of zinc to make it an spf? It works well for spf and rash cream since it’s considered as a skin protectant and anti-irritant? Not sure, sorry… 💞
Back in day, when I was a college student, broke & no insurance, I use to put diaper rash cream on psoriasis, it calmed it down some🙄😩
Can we do slugging with it and slather our whole face in it like some people do with petroleum jelly?

I use a cream with 10% zinc oxide daily (with vitamin A and diphenhydramine in), as it doesn’t have steroids and much inexpensive. I put it on everywhere gets itchy or bumpy. It’s a hard cream that leaves a white cast.

I’m old. What am I missing? You’re saying “don’t” and “stop” sleeping on diaper rash cream while seemingly supporting just that. Is this now a thing where yes is no and wrong is right?
to say “don’t sleep on…” means you should not miss out on it. she is saying you should NOT miss out on trying diaper rash cream because it can be useful for adult skin. does that make sense?
i never thought about using diaper rash cream, i would try it since regular skincare products are expensive. i’m using LRP cica plast baume which is great but $15 for a small tube?
