Believe she’s done a video with this information but I can’t remember the title 🤔
She’s talked about the differences between various retinoids, including tret and adapalene and retinol, in longer videos.
How about texture and clogged pores (not black heads)? will either help?
Yeah, regular otc retinol will help but adapalene or tretinoin is going to be more effective than otc retinol. You don’t need a prescription for differin in Australia anyway. Not sure about other countries.
I’ve had good luck improving texture after using Adapalene. In addition to the Adapalene, I also use Eucerin eczema releaf moisturizer twice a day on my face, which seems to help with any drying/irritation from the Adapalene. Then use sunscreen during the day. 😊

@maryamnajafian6699 Not a problem. Just keep in mind it can take a long time to see results. I’d say it took at least 6 months to really be crazy different. Also, generic Adapalene is your friend. No need for the Differin brand unless it’s on sale.

Adapele is the active form, the final form. The other one is still one step from the active form, your skin has to convert it. It all goes down to how your skin tolerate the products
I tried the Adapalene treatment for 5 and a half months and my breakouts actually got worse and there were no signs of changes in my skin. I went back to my benzoyl peroxide and skin exfoliator and my skin got better. Still have breakouts on my upper cheek and temple region, any recommendations for another type of retinol?
That’s because of purging and you are using two active at once, it’s better to use a cleanser with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide and then use the adalapene but if it doesn’t work, stick to what works.
@@theaondracawley5441 When I used the adapalene treatment, I used a simple cleanser or sometimes switch it up with Salicylic acid cleanser and used a regular moisturizer all the time. I used the Paula’s choice exfoliator once a week. I knew purging would happen, but it lasted more than 15 weeks, literally no changes. Once I stopped using it, my skin got better. Was hoping I can find a better alternative.
Adapalene and benzol peroxide function differently. Adapalene is a leave on treatment which helps loosen skin/encourage old skin to fall and thus prevent clogged pores. Benzoyl peroxide (both leave on and face wash treatment) works by killing acne bacteria.
To me, it seems you have an abundance of acne bacteria, which adapalene alone cannot address. Have you tried using a Benzoyl peroxide face wash then adapalene at night? Make sure to exfoliate with SA, but do not mix with Benzoyl peroxide.
And remember to wear sunscreen! Hope that helps
A combination of Twyneo (tretinoin and benzoyl peroxide) and an effective but mild antibiotic called Seysara that is used specifically for the treatment of acne bacteria. Dermatologist prescribed these, they WORK.
If he’s purging 5 months after starting adapalene than it’s not working. He should have dropped adapalene after 6 weeks of still breaking out

Hii Dr. dray from last 5 months my face skin is not absorbing any mosturizer and when I apply mosturizer it cause stinging and burning and when i wash face mosturizer peels off i dont know why it is happening i am only using oil can i use vaseline as mosturizer or should i do something different

Adapalene completely transformed my skin wonderfully. But I moved to Europe and it isn’t OTC around here, I get access to Tretinoin and Tazarotene instead(yay some might say), but I’m having a hard time adjusting to them as easily as i did with Adapalene :( (I tried Taz and gave up, trying tret now). I just want my clear and glowy skin back :( (my acne came back when I finished adapalene and I didn’t know I could get Taz and Tret OTC here so several months passed without me using any retinoid).
