  1. My face and upper neck react to plain old water (I live in the UK). I put off washing my hair for as long as I can because even if i bend over a bath to carefully wash my hair with the shower head I still get a bad reaction to any water that seeps onto the sides and top of my face. It quickly goes bright red and so sore and uncomfortable.

  2. I always think about this with fragrances. Some people get no reaction with artificial fragrances, others get reactions with artificial fragrances, but not with natural fragrances like essential oils. Then there are other people that need their products to be completely unscented or they will get headaches or rashes.

    1. My sister has sensitive skin and she can’t use cetaphil face wash even though she can use the moisturizer in the green lid

    2. Cetaphil was my dependable friend that always used to work for me, but it seems to have changed over the last few years…or I changed, who knows. My skin can’t even use it as lotion anymore.

    3. Cetaphil used to be fine and then they reformulated and put niacinamide in. Niacinamide feels like burning in my skin and leaves a rash

  3. I’m allergic to Coconut everything. My biggest fear is ingesting it because so many people cook with it now. But I can put it on my regular skin as long as the skin is unbroken. I cannot put it on soft tissue such as my lips. If I ingest enough of it I will faint. If I get it on my lips they will immediately crust up like a whole lip of herpes sores. Coconut derivatives are in literally everything. Anything that foams has it and much more.

    1. @@Rea13434OI love lotions with coconut and I still use them but I have to be very careful, wash my hands afterwards.

  4. Aveeno lotion gave me horrible rash all over my body. never using it again. i have used other oat based skincare but aveeno just gives me SO MUCH RASH.

  5. Phenoxethanol is the big issue for me .. and is in the most sensitive products .. i can’t use cerave for example

    1. Sameeee! One that I use without Phenoxenthanol is VaniCream: specifically the really thick body lotion that comes in like a 1lb tub.

  6. I got patch testing done at the allergist and I was allergic to benzoic acid, which has a bunch of other ingredients that cross react. It matched all the products that have given me he worst rashes, even from “sensitive skin” brands.

  7. I’m allergic to scented soaps and body wash. I’ve tried every sensitive skin product under the soaps and body wash category. I even tried scented soaps just to test things out. They all made me itch and/or break me out. The 1 soap I use now that DOESN’T make me itch or break me out is Dove Cucumber and green tea soap, the green soap bar. All that money spent on sensitive skin products and the scented one worked for me 😂

  8. Yup. I’ve super sensitive skin, and even worse after being diagnosed with diabetes type 2. Prior to diabetes I could wear most products except alcohol and green tea were the only ingredients that either made me itch, or made my skin red, irritated and gave me bumps. Now, I can’t use 99% of all skincare out there, even the ones I used to use for years without fail, and I’v tried them all from Western (European as I live in Norway) to Asian (Korean and Japanese), hyped, trending and famous products. Been using the last 6 years to do a ton of re search, and experimenting to find what works for my skin, which so far, nada. About to give up. And products geared towards my skin type and skin condition is a joke. How can they push products for sensitive skin when they always contain perfume/fragrance? I don’t get it. This is very common if Western skincare. My skin hates Niacinamide, vitamin C, AHA/BHA/Mandelic Acid etc, as well as Aloe Vera, Centella, Propolis, rice, snail, oats, the list goes on. Shea, jojoba or any oils, especially Squalane, and I’m allergic to minerals especially in makeup which is fun when you’re a MUA🤡

  9. People can be sensitive to plain tap water. I use distilled water for a final spray-rinse for half the year, because our municipal water wholesaler adds chlorinated bromine to our domestic water supply in Winter.

  10. That being said: “sensitive” isn’t a protected term, and I see plenty of companies putting top-3 skin allergens in their “sensitive friendly” products!

  11. I have rosacea, if you want to ask me to review sensitive skin friendly products just ask me because I have tried almost every brand and even though they claim to calm flare ups a lot of them made my roscaea way worse one of them Is cetaphil, bioderma, la Roche posay …

  12. The sensitive skin Dove cleansing bar irritated my co-worker’s skin, but she was fine with the regular, non-sensitive version.

  13. Every sunblock in the USA made me super itchy after being in the sun. I just thought I was allergic to the sun. I now use a European one made by a dermotologist, just because it was affordable and didnt think about it being any different. No more itching since then! My entire life I thought I was allergic to the sun…
