Happy Monday! Today I completed my isolation period due to testing positive for Covid, so this is a very happy day for me. It is the first time that I have been sick since Jan 2020, so it is good to feel well again. During the isolation period, my skin care was minimal and skipped on the bad days. Are there any considerations that I should make when returning to treatments such as tretinoin?

Hi Dr Dray! Delighted to see you comment on Bliss. Delighted to see it’s available at Walmart. I’ve been using their Body Butter ( the fragrance free version called Naked) on my face and body for years.

Before I developed severe fragrance issues, the Britney Spears Fantasy perfume was my favorite. It’s on the sweeter side, not musky or flowery.
You can get necklaces that are essentially lockets that hold a small piece of felt that you can put essential oils on to get the aromatherapy without the skin contact. You can also get bracelets with the same function. It might work the same for perfume if you’re missing it!

Every time after wash my hands I just put on the altruist spf 50 suncream as a moisturiser because then I’m topping up my sun protection too and it feels nice on the hands :)

I reeeeeeally like the SafeGuard Micellar hand soaps! Nice scents and non-drying.
HadaLabo (Mentholatum? I think they’re the same but I always forget) makes a lotion that you apply with wet hands right after washing and it works so well, with no residue once it absorbs. Mentholatum Hand Veil Premium Moist Milk. It’s basically the SkinAqua Mositure Milk (The hybrid one) without the SPF.

@Oksana ML I go to the Wal-Mart in Ogdensburg, NY but I haven’t been there since the pandemic began. I plan to see what else is around this area of NY. We were in Las Vegas this year in March and went to Walgreens and picked up their brand of an alpha hydroxy face cream and glad I did. So much cheaper than Canadian prices even with the exchange.

Another derm also discourages folks from touching their faces (she calls it hand on face syndrome) because the bacteria on our hands is being transferred to our face and can cause cheek acne and/or irritation.

@Elaine Davin You do but in the case of a lot of vit c supplements, they don’t stay in the body, that’s what Dr Dray and others are saying. That’s why they say you’re better off getting it from your food.

She’s got a video on skincare for babies and kids (as well as a video on sunscreen for baby, kids and teens). Dr. Daniel Sugai has a video on newborn skincare. The Budget Dermatologist has a list of products for babies on her Shop my Shelf page. Dr. Amna Husain is a pediatrician with videos on baby skincare. Not to mention your pediatrician should also be a resource.
I use Dove’s hypoallergenic body foam wash as my hand soap. I’m shocked at all these brands coming to Walmart. I’m wondering if this is a competition with Target? Heimish at Walmart??? I’m really shocked cause I thought I’d never see this brand in Walmart.
I’m excited! I look forward to these Wal-Mart shop with me videos so much! Not just for myself but also if I’m looking for a gift for someone. I wish Dr. Dray were around back in the 90s when I set myself up for lifelong acne with regular use of St. Ives Apricot Scrub, Noxzema, clean and clear, facial wipes,no sunblock and using betnoavte on active breakouts. I’m 43 now and have only recently cleared my skin (without yet another round of antibiotics) with her recommendations and hope the good run continues
