You can even use them at the same time if your skin can handle it. That’s more to do with tretinoin. If you’re going to do it, I’d apply azelaic acid last, as it has a tendency to pill up
Sometime they are combined in prescriptions, i believe Agency combines them, not sure i would actually mix them at home myself but it leads me to believe you could use them on same days if your skin tolerated it
Topical azelaic acid is primarily used to treat mild to moderate acne by reducing inflammation, killing acne-causing bacteria, and promoting cell turnover. It also helps to reduce hyperpigmentation, such as dark spots or melasma, by inhibiting melanin production in the skin. Can also be helpful for reducing skin redness
The Ordinary and The Inkey List both have Azelaic acids that I use twice daily. The Ordinary has a smoother feel. Both have helped me immensely. Absolutely controls my personal rosacea. Along with a few other actives. If I don’t use it the redness returns. A.A. forever. 😊
What about taking breaks? Some docs said that after 4-6 months, need to take a break, minimum 1 month. There are mixed opinions, and I have no idea how people with rosacea can use it twice a day for years. After 8 months, once a day, I feel it kind of made dry areas on my face that are resistant to moisturizers. Feels like it reduced sebum production a lot, and taking antihistamines makes it even worse.
Currently taking a break, and after 2 weeks, the sebum production is back, but not everywhere, there are still dry areas. It’s weird, it’s like exfoliated skin that stays on top more or less. If I use any urea cream, it feels better at first, but then I get little pustules that are barely inflamed – like all this dead skin got clogged. No idea if I should continue to use urea creams, and bite through it hoping it will get better. Glycerin/vaseline moisturizers won’t touch these dry areas at all :(
I used it for a long period of time with no results at all. I also tried the Ordinary same nothing only stay away from cooking because heat and this product don’t get along well and my face looked burned. Finally got a prescription and it worked in about 6 weeks of use 2x a day. It was like I did nothing else but to apply the product:) The redness was gone but I looked jaundice but I didn’t care 😅. I stopped using it when I ran out of it in about a year and redness came back slowly. So my conclusion: the effects for me were temporary. May use it again.
@@dime.overmatteryes I have mild vascular rosacea not too terrible. I was diagnosed 30 years ago and have managed well with treatments. Light therapy was effective and it was on remission for 25 years. I commented on the effectiveness of topical treatment and what it relates to my condition. Results are different among individuals.
I’ve been using prescription Azelaic acid for 1.5 years and I barely have an improvement in rosacea. My doctor said to just accept that I have rosacea. Can’t do anything else. Just be grateful it’s not as bad as others’ rosacea.
I just got diagnosed with rosacea and my dermatologist prescribed topical ivermectin (in the US it’s called Soolantra). Some people with rosacea have an overgrowth of demodex (face mites that everyone has) and the ivermectin helps kill them off. It sounds like you need to get a second opinion!
I like it. I actually see a difference in brightness in my skin but at the same time. once I use it I get a new pimple the next day. so when I use it 7 days straight I will have 7 new pimples on my face
I’ve had great results with otc 10% azelaic acid, but with consistent day and night use over the past 2 months. I’ve now switched to 15% considering how responsive my skin was to azelaic acid.
I’m pretty sure that’s just the way she talks. Some old Dr. Dray video has been popping op in my feed, and she uses her upper lip the same way in them 🤷🏻♂️
Its not the wait that bothers me. It makes my skin itchy. And I am not talking about slight tingling. It itches and if I put sunscreen over it, it itches more. So I have stopped using it
Can use Azelaic Acid one day and Tretinoin the other day for months?
Btw Dr. the skin of your face be looking gorgeous lately

Yes! Or azelaic AM tret PM if your skin tolerates it!
Aint that the truth
Skin = time 😊
Please can you do a video on how to get rid of marks on the side of the nose from wearing glasses- I get lazek next month
Nose pads can be adjusted.
@@21972012145525 done that now- I have marks from wearing them before they were adjusted that are not fading
I use it until it’s done…and then i use the second bottle/tube/jar
I used the 20% for 7/8 months and I don’t think it did anything for me…
Can you give a K-beauty option??😊
Cos de Baha!!
Great reminder.. 😊
I’m so impatient thank you thank you I need to be more patient ❤️
Appreciate the reminder Dr. Dray, but telling us what it’s primary skin target is for wouldve been ideal. Pigment?Tightening? 🤷♀️💡❤️

Maybe try a facial oil, like squalene. Your skin might be dehydrated, especially if oil production has ramped up in certain areas.

Yes rosacea is an incurable condition (if that’s what you have) but can be managed with treatments

Thank you! Same for working out, stretching and massage. The first time is just the beginning, gotta keep doing it for results

hey, try using centella asiatica! it is also one of the top ingredients for people with rosacea :)
Yes, Centella and Arnica combo may help
@@MeghanF93this, don’t just go off of random people online, but do get a second opinion, your doctor sounds kinda lazy
Don`t give up, look for alternative treatments. There is usually several ways of approaching the problem.

Can you tell us if the fact that you don’t move your upper lip when you talk is due to some beauty treatment? If so, which one? Thanks for the videos!

Unless it keeps causing irritation of course, its supposed to help, not make things worse
Whatever you do for skincare @drdray looks absolutely amazing. So beautiful!!😍💕
