I don’t do tiktok
I watch your long and short videos, but no tik tok! I’m old school! Your lashes look amazing Dr. Dray! Whatever you’re using works well!!!
Thanks!
@ so glad I found your channel!Better late than never!!!
I don’t know what people are going to do but I’ve been amazed at the lack of concern about handing personal information over to the Chinese. They don’t even have to steal it or hack into something to get it people just give it to them.🙄
They think the Chinese live in a better society than America. A lot of Americans are really badly educated.
I know, right!?!?
People will do anything for attention. I think that seeking attention is a form of the sin of pride (vanity). Fallen human nature.
Its not just the toc. Governments have access to more than one app. My opinion.
I’ve never been on tik tok.
Same! We aren’t missing anything but more misinformation 😅
Same. I don’t want it
Same here
Same.
Same 🙌
TikTok has greatly contributed to the dumbing down of society.
Indeed, especially for kids and teens. Teens are already unstable and very sensitive mentally like we all been through. So it’s easy to brainwash them with none sense, lowering their self-esteem and confusing them at the highest level ever. Social medias are very dangerous for them and we now see the impactS on them after just 5 years. Most of them are very depressive at only 14 yo, are so isolated in their little world that they are dealing with social anxiety and anger. Basically they don’t know how to live their life except informing themselves of what’s going on around the world and from bad influencers which makes them “angry” teens. Sad because they waste their life from what they see on social medias including tiktik. Obviously let’s not putting everyone in the same boat.
there is a lot of misinformation on there
society dumbing down has been a thing since way before tiktok was around. do some research
I have complete confidence that someone out there can create a platform that doesn’t compromise our national safety. Lots of intelligent people here in the U.S.A.!
Agree
Yes, it’s a much bigger issue when you’re dealing with China.
Yeah. It’s amazing the masses think the US can’t take this on.
“Compromise national security” 😂😂😂😂😂
@@Idk-do4dbJust like they took on Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan? How did that end?
Ok, hitting pause to say your hair is 🔥!! The middle part really suits you! 💕💕
thank you
What did people do before tik tok and other social media? We did just fine and were much happier, less anxious and probably wealthier not spending money on everything social media says we “need”.
True, before we all survive without social media. If their concern is losing job. Then get a real job. Tiktok is full of crap!
So true – youtube is my primary social media and even with that I cringe at how often I got influenced to buy stuff from the many Amazon and skincare videos that used to come up in my feed. I unsubscribed from them and am now content only getting what is necessary.
That’s easy to say if you have family or friends or even live in a real city, but I live in an area rn I can’t leave bc of a job, where I don’t fit in and it’s more remote. Without stuff like this or TT it gets really lonely.
How far back are we talkin’, because in the 90s, people panicked about the ads on TV and in print media. Then before then, war propaganda
people consumed more network tv, radio, and print media and were served ads that way
Did not realize that adults were using TikTok to the extent that they apparently are. Yeah, no thank you.
Me either until my husband mentioned that everyone at the hospital where he works is on it all day long, to the point patients are sometimes neglected.
You know, anything addictive should probably be avoided by sensible people…which is why I don’t gamble or drink or smoke. But I do drink coffee…nobody’s perfect!
I think a lot of people think tiktok is something different than it actually is. I’m 45 and in the last few years I’ve learned how to crochet, learned how to keep houseplants alive, how to fix things on my car, got recipes, found local restaurants I’ve never heard of, literally figured out a health problem that has been bothering me for years that I was able to take info to my doctor and resulted in a diagnosis, have gotten book recommendations and intelligent discussion about books when in real life I’ve failed to find a book club that wasn’t an excuse to drink wine and gossip. I’ve also been exposed to art and found a ton if new music I probably would not have been exposed to otherwise. I also learned a lot about astronomy, science and other cultures. I made a friend in Senegal.
Besides that it’s a wonderful source of real news. The news stations stopped covering what’s happening in Western NC weeks ago, but there are still people living in tents in 20 degree weather and the only people I know in real life that have talked about it are on tiktok.
I get it if it’s not for everyone, but I see a lot of people looking down on it and being judgy when they don’t even realize what it is.
@@PatriceChristian agree. No TikTok for me. YouTube is enough for me.
Never felt confident in dowloading Tik Tok.
I’m hoping this ban is permanent cos so many people will believe anything they see on tik tok
I don’t do Tiktok or SnapChat, I barely do Instagram. Won’t miss it!
I believe many people are unaware that TikTok is being considered a threat not because of content (free speech) but because it’s owned by China. There is a long list of data you give up every time you scroll TikTok. Some examples: Your name, age, username, email address, password, phone number and location. Your IP address, cellphone carrier, time zone, the model of your device and the OS you use. Biometric identifiers, like facial IDs and voiceprints. The content of your messages, plus exactly when you send, receive and read them. Objects and scenery that also show up in videos (ie how security is handled at tourist attraction, national landmark) Etc
This 👍
True. Good points.
Last year the government got hacked and millions of people social security have been leaked. They worry more about TikTok than their own issues.
ok? so does everything else thats in this country. things are far more easily leaked in this country but its like no one cares. make that make sense
@ This post was about TikTok. It’s your decision to make if you want to share your data on any platform but users should be informed and aware. I personally wouldn’t leave that info on a countertop for anyone to see but that’s me. Cybercrime cost the world $9.5 trillion in 2024 – that would make it the third largest economy. I’m guessing US is most concerned about national security.
My (late) husband had a high security clearance and no one in our household could download and use Tik Tok because of security concerns. The fact the US government has allowed this and some other apps is a serious concern.
2 of my brothers & their families are in the same boat. They do not miss it. 😊
I was on TikTok for a couple months and realized how awful it was for my mental health and attention span. The fact that it required me to manually scroll between videos kept me glued to the app for hours. I also don’t need to hear everyone’s terrible opinions LOL. I eventually deleted it and have never looked back.
I like YouTube because I can step away from the phone and still listen since it autoplays videos.
Also totally agree with the Costco gas line! I feel so much safer there as someone who lives in a big city. I remember working in Houston and getting gas in an area where no one else was around. A man came up on me begging for gas. I got so scared that I swiped my card for him (shouldn’t have) and sped off.
X/Twitter is the same. The algorithms are very carefully designed to capture your attention in an unremitting iron grip, and before you know it you’ve spent far too much time scrolling. Remember the golden rule of social media – we are not the customers, we are the product.
I don’t do TikTok. Never have…probably never will. Don’t really care about it, but I understand some creators are super concerned about the possible shutdown.
Obsessed with Sanrio and the blind bags are so fun! Got so excited when I saw you knitted a Cinnamoroll! Adorable.
I don’t go on Tik Tok but if it does go away, I feel bad for the people that rely on it for income. I doubt it’s going anywhere though. Thanks for showing us some new things at Walgreens. The cat and dog dishware at Kroger is adorable!! I need those. Another reason to hate that we don’t have Kroger where I live. Happy Sunday, Dr Dray! I hope you have a tranquil evening. 💜
15:10 I love the sass here. ❤😂
Yes, I am extremely anxious about the impending freeze. I live in an old condo-apartment. I’m anticipating I’ll be without water.😢I’m praying we don’t loose power for very long.
