  1. A good scalp massage not only helps with the blood flow of the whole area but it is also relaxing 😊❤. It alleviates and helps to let the stress of the day go away (at least for the duration of the massage 😅).

  2. I have fine thin blonde hair but lots of it. Once a week, I use Moroccanoil Clarifying Shampoo & condition the ends. So much volume without stripping highlights.

  3. My primary specializes in endo and I have PCOS. He prescribed this for me years ago and I love it. Don’t know what I’d do without it.

    1. @@jed19111955 I know this is going to sound crazy, but my point of reference was I didn’t want to be able to see my ear anymore when looking at the side of my head when my hair was down. And I can’t. I would say it took a good year before I noticed anything but my hair and nails have always grown slowly, even with minoxidil and finasteride.

  4. I’m at the end of my third month on oral minoxidil 1.25mg with no side effects other than new hair growth on my scalp. No shedding. I was originally using topical minoxidil with great results however I was tired of having hair that always felt oily.

  5. After surgery last August, I lost a lot of hair. I did some research and went back to my doctor to request Minoxidil for hair growth and Finasteride to prevent hair loss. I take each once per day. Best thing I ever did! My hair is coming back all over and I am truly grateful! More people need to talk about this! Thanks Dr. Dray for all you do!

  6. My husband took oral minoxidil, it caused him to have serious heart issues in 6 months of taking it. He stopped taking it and luckily he didn’t have long term damage. After going to the doctors and learning more about it, it can cause heart failure. So I would never advise taking it through a company like Hims or whatever but managed and taken under the care of a doctor. The reason my husband didn’t go through topical route is because it can be extremely deadly for your pets and especially cats. So if your cat likes to get on your pillows or in your bed, it can get on them and then they can lick themselves. So just do your research on that and be very careful with your kitties ❤️

    1. Thankfully, your hubby is okay. Thanks for the warning. Good to know about cats…why had no one mentioned this vital info??? Thanks again ❤🙏🐈❤

    2. @@ambergerhelper7852 agreed! I’m not saying people shouldn’t take it, but because of the risk to the heart, it should definitely be managed through a doctor. Hims is advertised all over YouTube as a subscription minoxidil, which is not controlled by your doctor. I would advise against services like these because you could have an underlying condition that you are not aware of or adverse side effects to the minoxidil which could have deadly consequences.

    3. I have had none of these issues and my hair has regrown and my confidence has grown exponentially, and this also after 6 months. So just do!

  7. I use all of the above. Finasteride, oral minoxidil, dandruff shampoo, and iRestore! It’s really stopped my hair loss in its tracks!

    1. I used minoxidil 5% since May 2024 , nutrofol vitamins daily and elite irestore 12 mins a day
My hair has grown so much I couldn’t be happier. I wanted to add in oral minoxidil BUT I am afraid to go through the ‘dead shed’ again
It was scary when I started with minoxidil but happy I persevered

  8. I use 5% liquid topical 2 x a day. I find it easy and actually almost acts as a styling aid for me. It’s been 11 months. It hasn’t worked as well as I would have liked, but it has helped with some regrowth and stopped any new loss. My bald spot started when I was in my late 30s and I didn’t start minoxidil until 59 so I wasn’t expecting miracles. Overall I’m pleased with the incremental gains and will continue.

  9. I’ve been using for 3 months. Big initial hair shedding that can be intimidating but now seeing the results in new growth. My hair line is proceeding rather than receding!

  10. I used topical for 4 years with phenomenal results. Now, I’ve been on pill form from my Dr. for 6 months and seen further growth. Not one negative side effect, just hair regrowth. My problem, along with what Dr. Dray said, was that as my hair grew thicker I found it more difficult to get it on scalp. Also, taking systemically ensures I get even amounts all over. I also couldn’t use topical 2x daily as it made my hair very greasy, so I couldn’t use it in the morning prior to work.

I’ve used this, along with Finasteride, for 4 years plus, and literally only side effects have been increased self-confidence that has come with getting my hair back. Truly has been life changing. Thank you, Dr. Dray for this as using your skincare advice as well has taken 10 years or more off my look, according to most. I’m a 38-year-old male, and I don’t understand why one wouldn’t want to look younger longer and the boost in esteem that comes with that. Not for everyone, as she says, but I’m so grateful for this and what is “naturally” out there.

  11. I am thrilled with the results of taking the oral minoxidil pills. I tried the topical minoxidil and it never seem to do much for me. I’ve been using the pills for about a year now and my hair is growing so well. I have not had any bad results from taking the pills other than a little bit of peach fuzz on my face which I shave off a couple times a week.

  12. Excellent information. Thank you! I’ve been on oral Mixodil (2.5 mg) for about 3 years now. I can’t say I’ve noticed a massive difference in my hair, yet I honestly do believe it is helping me KEEP my hair. I’ve had thin hair my entire life, and nothing really has shown extreme improvement. However, I do believe that oral minoxidil, along with HRT, is a good combination to combat hair thinning and loss, as we naturally decline in estrogen. Thank you for this segment.

  13. I have been using topical minoxidil 5% in liquid form once a day for almost a year. I am a menopausal woman and noticed my hair appearing thinner in my late 40s. I didn’t have any bald spots but the baby hair area above my temples showed scalp. I didn’t notice any significant shedding when I started. I first noticed about three months in my temples looked fuller. My hair feels thicker now and my hairdresser has noticed. My terminal hair length is also two inches longer now (long hair is part of my identity). I apply enough to cover my full scalp every night with a dropper and massage it in. My hair doesn’t feel greasy in the morning, and after a few days it feels similar to having dry shampoo in my hair. I have had slight scalp flaking, but not enough to be noticeable to anyone else, but I think if I washed my hair more than once a week I wouldn’t even have it since it’s only toward the end of the week that I notice it. It’s actually very inexpensive online at Costco. I’m happy with my results and will continue to use it.

  14. I use oral minoxidil and my hair is now so much thicker . No side effects as yet , after 18 months . Better than the topical stuff

  15. Dr. Dray! Been waiting on an oral minoxidil video, this couldn’t have come at a better time. I recently started it in combination with LLLT and Dutasteride, hoping to yield some great results in the coming months. You Da Goat!

  16. Hi Dr. Dray — thanks for all your videos, including this one! You have so many videos out there I thought I would just ask the question — do you address Finasteride off label for women for hair grow growth? I know it’s approved for men. However, I have heard that some doctors do prescribe it for women.
