  1. I know when I use my oven, the Heat from the oven can make me flush when I open the door to retrieve the cooked meal! Also any type of heat and/or Sun exposure!

    Wish we had a CURE!

    1. I swear I’ve stopped using my big oven and just use the lil air fryer for this reason 🥵☹️

  2. Took me fr so long to figure out my triggers and which combinations I should avoid. Thanks to sunscreen along with skincare routine fitting my needs I’m able to keep my rosacea under control for most parts. But even when successfully avoiding flare ups it sucks to have it constantly on my mind. And I still have to work on my final boss..anxiety. These flare ups are the worst.

  3. You know what also causes my to have those red bumps that look like hives ? When I spray my body spray it perfume anywhere near my shoulders. The fragrance in the air gets onto my face. I always flare after that and it took me a good while to make the connection. That’s when I go into taking my zinc diaper cream to help reduce that inflamation. Along with the usual Azaleic acid.

  4. Mine started because of peri-menopause (never had it prior to this), not sure if I can fix that unfortunately 😥

  5. Azelaic acid (I use 10% OTC- more gentle, still works) and a good mineral sunscreen have worked wonders for my redness ❤

    1. Azelaic acid used to burn my face when I first started using it back in 2002! It was sold under the brand name Finacea! I don’t know if they still make it or not, but it burned me badly!

    2. @Jasmine215100oh no! I’m sorry you had the experience! It can be strong at the higher percentages! I actually use the lower percentage at 10% now which is sold OTC. I have used prescription as well at 15% but honestly it’s much easier for me to just use the 10% sold OTC and I’ve had good results! ❤️

    3. If you ever did want to give it another try you could try the 10% (lower, non prescription, more gentle dose) and buffer it with your moisturizer. Probably good to do a “patch test” though since you had a previously bad experience with it. ❤

  6. I’ve been using Hard Candy’s Skin Rescue spray toner (RED bottle) as a first treatment product after cleansing, and it really helps my rosacea. It contains Hypochlorous acid and licorice root extract, and it’s very soothing. A nice fine mist, too – and it’s cheap! $7 at Walmart.

  7. I use Walgreens lice treatment cream 0.5% ivermectin. I cover the areas affected at night and then slug with vaseline. I had ocular rosacea for 15 years and cured it in a week with this cream. I put it on my eyelashes, eyelids, eyebrows and cheeks 2x daily for 2 weeks. I do this every few months to make sure it stays gone. Been clear for over a year now.

Soolantra works better…if you can get it prescribed. 1% ivermectin.

  8. Hey, doctor here
Mine sometimes get triggered after I use glycolic acid. I didn’t realize it until 2 days after it (the next day it still appeared normal) when I had a really warm shower and the redness didn’t go away for the whole day.
So if you break out and you have rosacea, I suggest use salicylic acid for your BHA and mandelic acid for your AHA instead of GA.
And azelaic acid of course! For moisturizer and sunscreen look for panthenol and centella in the ingredients. Cicaplast and Skin1004 sunscreen are my go to. Oh, and don’t forget hypochlorous acid spray!

  9. So basically I can’t do anything; God forbid I go outside. This is ridiculous; there has to be a better fix.

  10. That’s quite the bomb song Dr. Dray.
Where is my Mind. Love you you no nonsense woman. ✌️

  12. Being told to avoid triggers really isn’t helpful when you have many of them (like a lot of rosacea patients do). We shouldn’t be put in a position to feel at fault for doing things like going outside, exercising or just drinking a cup of tea.

    1. Weird you took this as criticism. The doctor was simply educating you on potential triggers. You certainly don’t have to follow her recommendations.
