Whenever i get carried away with looking at new products, I come back to you and a minimalistic routine becomes appealing to me again. xx
my 50 dollar eye cream and mario badesco rose water spray sitting in my bathroom like: 👁👄👁
I always try to be as minimalistic as possible for my tricky skin. Thought my nighttime moisturizer feels a wee bit heavy for use around my eyes, so I do enjoy a lightweight eye cream. Though this may change in the future!
@Gabby Angels She is saying that there is no need to wash inside – the vagina. The mucous membranes inside are naturally lubricating and “self-cleaning” in healthy people, and should be left alone. And there’s absolutely NO need to buy a cleanser or a wash specifically “made” for that area. That’s just marketing hype. What works for the rest of your body will work there too, if you feel you must use a cleanser, just be sure to rinse the folds of the labia well. As Dr. Dray says elsewhere, take a step back and think about the products you are using. You want to be good to the skin you have all over your body, not just “down there”. Be good to your whole body and one cleanser will be able to take care of everything.
@Cindy Wodinsky thank you
@Gabby Angels ❤👍

I do like at home microdermabrasion. I see a big improvement in my skin. I also do buy facial oil and I love it. I don’t buy any of the other things.
U r lifesaver
Darn and I really wanted to know why she’s not using vitamin C serum because I do
I needed this
Omg, thank you 😊
This is the difference between an influencer and an actual medical professional who is qualified to give you advice. Influencers will swear up and down that you need those fad ingredients, toners, probiotics, whatever in your routine for the perfect skin with a discount code to boot. Medical professionals will promote the simplest routine possible that actually have scientific evidence backing it.
Literally FACTS 👏🏻🔊 💯
Excellent comment. I agree completely, I love actual experts’ insights and I’m very grateful for their content on YouTube
@Jessica Queiroz definitely YES ❤🎵
I do feel that Dr. Dray is unique in this area and I love listening to her and learning from her knowledge. Very thankful to Dr. Dray for stepping up and sharing some of what she knows. Her work is appreciated. Medical professionals are not all like Dr. Dray..they aren’t all the same and with influencers you need to do your own research imo.
Well you realize that influencers are paid to say good things about the products right? They’re like sales people!!
Can we just take a moment to appreciate dr dray who recommends so many AFFORDABLE skincare options when many people in the skincare industry (esthetician’s, some plastic surgeons, spas, etc) will recommend the most outrageously priced skincare items……
YES !!! I SO appreciate her ! I can’t afford any other way, so I’m very grateful for her
@araah Maybe not but they can affect your health and the environment.
@DeathBeforeDecaf I think you are the ignorant. Some parabens and preservatives ARE bad actually, do your research., some can even cause cancer. I agree that more expensive doesn’t necessarily mean better quality but most higher end brands are not “as basic as drugstore”.
I’d like to say that I think you are a wonderful person. For those who can not afford a dermatologist can still access great advice from you through this platform. I love watching your videos! Just wanted to say thanks! 👍🏼
Never knew this about eye creams being unnecessary! This is great news… they are so overpriced anyway! Thank you. :-)
Ik she said they’re not necessary but i love the one i use
@thefashionkat I read great reviews about this..thanks for the recom!
Yes, if you look at the ingredients in them, you’ll see that they are really just overpriced moisturizers. Definitely NOT needed in anyone’s skincare routine.
@T That’s why she says these are products SHE doesn’t need/use. Of course you have to cater to your specific skin needs. If eye creams work for you then it’s no problem. I trust a board certified dermatologists’ general advice over anyone else’s “indulgent” needs.
I heard similar a while ago from the product manufacturers..
This lady deserves a medal of freedom for liberating our brains from marketing crap ❤️
@JJ Thanks for letting us know. I sure save so much money listening to her. Imma probably stay with the BHA and AHA from paula bc that is literally the only thing that works
She’s the only skin care channel I watch! No nonsense, straight to the point.
She’s not always right though.
I cannot freaking believe what I’m hearing right now.
@Lauren Marie Hyram is very good too. They’re the only two I watch.
I’m happy to hear that eye creams are unnecessary! I have mostly used my face cream on my eyes but have been fooled a few times to buy eye creams because I’ve been thinking that face cream is bad for them. I always find it annoying to use many different products so again I’m happy to hear this!
LoL … me… removing the $47 eye cream from my Ulta shopping cart🤪. Whew!
🤣🤣
Yup I did these before I had to separate moisturizers and get many types of toners… I removed them all
🤣🤣🤣
I mean, I think the reason people get separate I creams is because their face may not need as thick and rich of a moisturizer as the skin around their eyes. I definitely have combination skin and the moisturizer I use on my face cannot be too thick or rich otherwise I’m left a greasy mess for half the day. I don’t necessarily buy many separate eye creams, but I have tried them. What I noticed is that they are usually more rich and your face doesn’t always need that.
We are all individuals and some people have more dry or more oily skin, or their environment is more drying, etc. The heat pumping through the HVAC systems all winter or notorious for drying out your skin.
For these reasons, I will use my thicker moisturizers or creams for my eye area while often using a lighter moisturizer, not to say that it is light because I do need the moisturizer everywhere else as well, but something that may not be So noticeable in oily on my t-zone.
I hope that makes sense? I still don’t think it needs to be all that expensive though !
Honestly, when in doubt, if I’m experiencing some sort of irritation from dry weather, or I scrubbed my eyes a little too hard removing my eye makeup, I would just use a few dabs of aquaphor healing ointment. It’s one of the only things that doesn’t burn around my eyes and it’s what they suggest for children on their faces if it is absolutely necessary for you to put anything on your kids face at all, which isn’t generally recommended.
@Christina Yarmolyuk Sometimes is the other way around actually. In general they’re lighter because the eye area is delicate and a cream which is too thick might cause swelling. Eye creams also adress specific problems such as dark circles so I don’t think they’re unnecessary unless you really don’t have any concerns in this area such as swelling, dark circles or milia.
I was just looking for a moisturizer as I was running out. After watching you, I just got some CeraVe moisturizing cream. I had to spend $100 on medication, so it was good to just pay $20 for a moisturizer. Feels good so far.
I love hearing professionals rant about the idiotic marketing related to their industry. It is satisfying to know where marketers are trying to trick me to get my money. Thank you for this informative video!
other ‘gurus’ would makes dozens of videos on each product of each name brand out there. im relived to know im not missing anything.
I’ve spent a small fortune on facial products from cleansers, hydrating lotions to serums and I’ve decided to keep it simple and age exactly how I’m supposed to. Thank you Dr Dray🥰
Agreed! Dr. Dray has made skin care so much more streamlined 🙌🏻 (age 54)🙂
“I’ve been sent these products before and I end up using them on my feet.”
Absolutely savage, Dr. Dray.
Lol that’s what I do
🤣🤣🤣
@crimsontide8574 l
I feel her 😂 . Anytime I’ve falled into the trap of buying a scrub I’ve used it on my heels, anywhere else it was too aggresive and abrasive. 🙁 Now when I feel like I might buy some stuff I don’t need because of marketing, I go back to Dr Dray’s videos to stop myself.
P
Literally me removing almost everything out of my sephora and ulta shopping cart. Thank God I found your videos
I recently invested in a set of 20 reusable cotton/bamboo rounds to replace the disposable ones I have been using for years. They are fantastic at removing makeup, and they wash up beautifully. They come in a mesh bag that keeps them together in the laundry, and I just toss the bag in with my sheets & towels. They are wonderful! Next up will be replacing my feminine hygiene products with more sustainable versions that create less waste.
No. Just use cleansing oil and then a gentle foaming cleanser. You are basically rubbing your skin and over time causing wrinkles.
Wow ! Dr. Dray you are awesome ! Thank you for creating a YouTube channel for us to learn how to care for our skin. There are products I use and no longer will ! ❤️
Thank you so much for educating us about what is and is not “required” in order to achieve and maintain the healthiest skin possible! Thank you too for cutting through the confusion, I’ve learned so much today watching your honest and very frank discussions!
Love her clinical honesty! Dr. Dray I love your no nonsense approach to skin care. After suffering through patches of red, itch skin in my eyebrows and above, I listened to one of your videos and threw out my expensive, fragrant moisturizer! I now use CeraVee and I am doing much better!
So very thankful and grateful that I found your channel. I’m old..almost 74 yrs old. Not bad…I’ve stayed out of sun and used sun screen for last 30 years. Used to tan…gave it up.
You’re so down to earth, you’re adorable, you’re funny, you are truthful ( my gut instinct has been right my entire life..99% of time). No bs…just the facts. I buy some of the products you mention…Cerave, Cetaphil, day care moisturizers all contain sun screen. I’ve tried products when I was younger…but just rely now on simple, good quality facial/body products (because I’ve been watching you for 3 weeks … almost every night before going to sleep. ). I know, for sure, when I was first hitting my teen years, I don’t even remember any eye creams being talked about. I was thinking…a few months back, do I really need eye creams? Thank you.
I live alone…only child…single parent, hectic job…and helped raise all 5 of my grandchildren in between….and fostered/adopted several pets from animal shelters. Grandkids all grown up..busy with living life. I’m usually alone (but I did adopt 2 sickly stray cats .. both at different times. Some health issues…many losses of loved ones (both human and non human)…even my 37 yr. old daughter..so suddenly…heart condition. It runs in my entire family. Thought I’d be long gone by now.
I’ve never used any type of foundation. I don’t like the way it feels. Had to stop working due to fibromyalgia, spinal stenosis, bulging herniated disks in spine, sciatica (both sides…what fun!), arthritis, tendinitis, sinusitis, arthritis….and I’m a tiny woman.
Been on my own a long time…never remarried…family and all my pets always came first. Still do. I’m very happy alone. I think I’ve grown and observed and learned, changed and evolved into preferring hanging with non humans now. Many adult humans just annoy me and exhaust me.
Sorry, rambling. Just want to thank you. I appreciate you taking the time to share your opinions, as a dermatologist…and as someone who just cares about others who don’t know any better…and we sometimes think the latest trend will help us look younger. Old age isn’t fun….but I’m calmer, wiser and have learned to live in the present moment. Took me years of sorrow and heartbreak..to learn about life. The only thing we have control over is our thoughts, our feelings, our perceptions, our opinions and our actions. So…now I kinda just try to go with the flow. And LIFE is so unpredictable and fleeting. I live each day as if it might be my last…still trying to help others (both family and non humans) when I’m able.
Limited income…it’s hard…with a big human family, a tiny home (I think I mentioned I live alone)…and caring fir 13 feral cats (all tnrd), the raccoons, the opossums, the squirrels, etc… Best part…they all pretty much trust me…and they all get along.
I’ve subscribed and will continue to watch your videos. You really are so darn cute…and thanks for sharing your time and for sharing your honest opinions. 💖💫👍😍
Finally someone called out the lash serum nonsense. I remember stressing out on finding the perfect lash growth formulas and I ended up making the skin around my eyes so sensitive and no difference to my lashes.
