Hybrid sunscreens are my go-to, because of you Dr. Dray! My favorites for daily use are the drmtlgy broad sprectum 45 (just got 3 new bottles on Black Friday) or eltaMD UV Daily, and the Jack Black Oil Free Sunguard for being active. I recently finished the Skin Aqua Super Moisture Milk and loved it too!
👍
Love the Skin Aqua for my ‘wiser’ dry skin 😊
I agree on how dangerous it is to drive while your eyes are burning from chemical sunscreen. I have been trying different kinds and I find mineral sunscreens are better around my eyes.
Eltamd tinted sunscreen doesn’t burn my eyes! Honestly not sure if it’s a chemical or mineral formula
@cami it’s mineral! Probably why it doesn’t burn
@avmist159 I have the coola sun silk drops but have been too afraid to test it out on my eyes. thanks for mentioning it, I’m going to give it a try.
@melanie yes! I got it in my fabfitfun box and I was like “welp I might as well try this, if it burns I can just wash it off”…luckily it didn’t!
“I agree on how dangerous it is to drive while your eyes are burning…” Wouldn’t everyone agree with that?
Hello Dr Dre and everyone! I know Dr Dre knows I’ve been watching her videos all morning long!😂 I always love these weekend videos though, it is Saturday right? Thanksgiving through me off a little bit.
thanks for watching & happy Saturday!
Greetings Sable 711 hope u r well n Happy Saturday😀👍💜….
@Whitney Brown 😊🖐🖐
Hi Dear Dr! My skin (thanks to you), looks like 10 years younger! However, the jowls are starting to notice. For my future, what is the best way to prevent/treat them other than surgery?
Not Dr Dray (obs, lol) but I’ve looked into this and truly, a face lift appears to be the only real way to address it. The other way is to appreciate and be grateful you get to age at all and accept it. :). Neither is a wrong choice, imo.
Thank you for talking about the facial exercises I used to try and do them a while ago but yes they are time consuming and I already work out the rest of my body I don’t have the patience and I personally don’t like touching my face except for washing my face and putting on products, if I knew 100 1000% that they work then I would take the time to do them, there is a lady on YouTube who shows how to do facial exercises but she has had cosmetic surgery done I don’t know if that counts or if that makes her qualified but I need to see slam dunk proof that they absolutely work before I tried doing them again
Absolutely, I agree! Also I love your name!😂 oh and I so hope this is just your YouTube or screen name being used here unlike one of my college professors who was actually named Butterball. His parents didn’t even give him the last name. I don’t even know how to Google him now to see if he’s still around. Just remember wanting to mail something to him and ask his real name and he said it’s Butterball and I said well okay then what’s your last name and he said there is no last name on my birth certificate. Should have done that with my name years ago cuz it would drive the telemarketers crazy!
@Sable 711 you mean he had no last name he only had a first name and it was Butterball? He legally changed it to Butterball? How did he get away with that? I thought when you go to court to legally change your name if it sounds ridiculous the judge will throw it out at least that’s what I heard, and in some counties you can’t name yourself after a celebrity so how did he get away with naming himself butterball? LOL
Definitely produce is not the same this year. I’m finding surface mold on onions and potatoes. Plus there’s been a Lettuce shortage. So, finding salad greens has been hit or miss.
I prefer Korean chemical sunscreen, Beauty of Josem. Total game changer. I’m 48 and for years I wore Avonenzone based sunscreen on my face because it was the best option, and the stinging is no joke, it was always an issue. Then I switched to the new mineral sunscreens about 5 years ago, now I use Korean. It is the best by far.
The drought in California has really been tough on produce. Tomato production alone was down 10% for example. Because CA provides the produce to much of the USA, I think that’s why produce in many places is looking not so great. I love the Eucerin face lotions that you recommended. I use both the oil control and the age defense depending upon how my skin feels. The eye-burn is real, and it HURTS! I can’t wait to try some of the dermtlgy and colorscience products.
I’m so glad I’m not the only (I thought) weirdo who dislikes washing my face in the sink. I HATE water dripping down my arms and the puddles around the sink.
@Ronda Herriott yesss
I shower 3 times a day to avoid washing my face 2 times a day in the sink it drips down your for arm elbowes i Hate it I also brush my teeth and shave only in the shower
@Steve Adams 😂 wasting water 🙄😂
I got baby wash cloths. Very soft and has removed the issue of water down the arms.
Omg I hate sink puddles!!! It’d my biggest pet peeve. Even when ppl wash their hands and drop water on sink..I’m like 🤬🤬🤬 lol lol
Produce has definitely been in bad shape. I’ve given up buying strawberries. They turn to mush the day after I buy them.
My family loves parsnips! I thought we were the only ones 😀
Thats bc the strawberries and produce have been harvested months ago…
You are so right about the produce! Yes, I’ve noticed the quality going down too. It’s a little disturbing. But you should have tasted an apple 50 years ago. The difference is night and day.
I find it actually concerning — between the climate crisis and all the herbicides that are used, our veggies and fruit are hurting, it appears.
50 years ago they used chemicals on produce as well. I remember being a kid and chasing the truck that was fogging chemicals (probably DDT) to kill mosquitoes! That and the smell of leaded gasoline (which was appealing),has probably led to certain brain damage!
I absolutely prefer chemical sunscreens, but some are so hard to tolerate around my eyes, and really can be blinding. I think the blinding aspect is mostly only experienced by us contact lenses wearers, and that’s probably why it’s not mentioned as much 🤷
I don’t wear contacts (tried to lol) but holy heck is it blinding. I stopped wearing sunscreen for a year because of that. But I can’t imagine dealing with both the occasional blurry vision from dry eyes and sunscreen while wearing contacts
I wear glasses only, no contacts. But I’ve experienced the blinding while driving. Very scary. I thought it was an unusual sensitivity.
i too like chemical sunscreens, what i do though however, is use a paper towel or napkin and blot my skin after the initial soak in and then “maybe” later during the day my forehead. This, for me, does the trick. :)
At the risk of dating myself😫… I was a teenager in the 90’s when I discovered Ms. Carole Maggio on the Oprah show; she was promoting her “facersizes” and upcoming book. I was fascinated! Anyway, I’ve been facercizing ever since🤗. I have an almost 16 year old son and we’re often mistaken for being a couple (or siblings). When I attend my brother’s functions (he’s 2 1/2 years older than me) his friends and coworkers are perplexed when he introduces me as his sister because they assume I’m another one of his kids 🤣. I’ve been wearing sunscreen daily since I was 15 years old, any sunscreen, whatever is on sale; although I gravitate towards Aveeno mineral but I also like the CVS sunscreens. I’ve only worn makeup a handful of times throughout my lifetime, I’m vegan, exercise regularly, don’t smoke nor drink… I think all of these factors have aided in maintaining a youthful looking appearance, oh… And I don’t eat buttered popcorn… I remember hearing someone on TV when I was a teenager that buttered popcorn was aging, specifically microwaveable buttered popcorn so I haven’t had it since 🤭. That lentil soup looks fantastic, I like to put spinach on mine 😋.
I agree with the produce, dear Dr. Dray. It has been hit or miss here in Austin, especially with apples and avocados. Grateful for what I can find. Wishing you a very blessed and beautiful weekend. 💚
How’s it going, geezer?
I sometimes put your videos on in the background because you have amazing diction and enunciation. It’s really refreshing to listen to you speak. Of course I’ve learned a lot about skincare in the process!
More Cosori recipes please (for those of us who are clueless how to utilize their own Cosori)!
Loved the vlog! ❤
I often make a turkish soup on red lentils, crushed tomatoes, onion and garlic, served with a drizzle of olive oil and squeezed lemon. It’s so good and cooks in 10 minutes, highly recommend.
Yumm, I love our lentil soup. I should make some soon too.
Dr Dray
You never fail to make me smile and as a bonus I take away nuggets of knowledge.
I’m so glad you stayed true to yourself throughout your career on YouTube and didn’t go all “I’m YouTube famous” on us.
Thanks.

My dad died from skin cancer 2 years ago and he hated sunscreen because it burned his eyes and caused him to sweat…prior to the prevalence of mineral sunscreens. I gave him a few to try and he used them, but it was really too late. Sad to be without him this holiday season😢
Dr. Dray, you may find it a little easier to sort your beans and legumes before washing them. It makes it easier to find pebbles or twigs or other undesirables, and then the rinsing is a breeze. It’s how my mom always does it. I’ve tried both ways and find her way to be better (for me, anyway). 😊 Happy Holidays!
