Happy Saturday Dr Dray. Thanks for empathizing with us chronic illness sufferers. 🤗
Happy Saturday
I wish we could have the ability someday to scan people’s bodies and visually see the pain, maybe visualized as little flames or electricity spots floating on the body. Maybe in the near future. It is annoying how dismissive the American healthcare system can be. They treat people’s subjective perception as secondary to anything that can be measured instead.
She’s so thoughtful❤
Do you lift weights?! I’m skinny like you and have trouble gaining muscle no matter how much protein I eat 😢
@Iquey Please don’t generalize the entire American healthcare system. As a nurse, I know that there are many healthcare workers who take pain seriously and work to advocate for and alleviate patient’s pain.
God Bless 🙏🏻😇
The Milani tubing mascara is in a turquoise container with gold writing on it. I just got it this weekend and I’m loving it so far. I love how intense it is, how full and long it makes my lashes but because it’s a tubing mascara, I especially love how it just falls off with warm water.
@Kelly 111 … no. I work 12 hr days and it held up for me with very little flaking but no smudging.
I use the Causemetics mascara, is this similar? I’ve never heard of Milani. I’ll have to look for it. (Don’t usually spend much time in the cosmetics isle. 🤓)
Whats a tubing mascara? Never heard of it.
@LouAnn S they’ll coat lashes in “tubes” so the product can slide off with just warm water, no makeup remover needed! they also tend to have more lengthening effect and less flaking than normal mascara.
@LouAnn S … starlight said it perfectly ⬆️⬆️⬆️
Dr. Dray, you’re such a graceful, genuine, empathetic, earnest person! Thank you for sharing your life, wisdom, & sweet personality with us! :~))
Thanks for watching
Well that was an unexpected cry!! This world is absolutely terrible at noticing chronic illness but when you are living it, it’s the realest thing in the world. Thank you for your lovely words Dr Dray 🥺💕
Excellent video today, Dr. Dray. You touched on many important points that many people don’t consider as part of their lives. ❤
Dr Dray you are such a light in this world! It warms my heart to think of all the people you have helped with your kind, consistent, science-based, practical, no-nonsense information & advice. You truly are an inspiration & I will be forever grateful to you.
I can’t agree enough with you on this 👍❤️
Me too! Wholeheartedly 💯%
Just retired. I have read more books the last 6 months. Heaven! The anxiety people face today could be so helped by leisure reading. When I was younger I read a lot of biographies. Helps inspire and support living your life.
Great PSA on not being obsessive about appearance and thinking about the long term for health and cognition. Because honestly once you reach a certain age (50+), no matter how well kept you look, appearances really become secondary to being physically and mentally agile. I think I look pretty good for my age but no one looks at me and thinks – wow that is one hot middle-aged woman. Age does strip away petty vanities so one gets to focus on the things that matter. LOL.
I’m 47 and could care less about makeup, anti-aging lotions, potions, Botox, laser treatments. I just don’t care about it. Bring on wrinkles. Eventually looks fade. It’s inevitable. I care about peace, my mind, depression, how much energy I have to spare in one day, taking my vitamins, eating healthy.
Your last sentence sums it all up in a nutshell. Perfectly stated. Aging certainly does remove pettiness.
She’s right.
Nothing is more important than your health. Always took care of myself, ate pretty healthy, am thin. Did not watch my stress. I had no idea about chronic stress. I have aggressive ms now. People say to me all the time how great I look. Just because symptoms are invisible doesn’t mean they aren’t there.
I am grieving the life I had. Now I’m just surviving- not living.
From a fellow MS patient, sending you many virtual hugs 🤗 Hang in there.
I’m 23 and just got diagnosed with MS last year, wishing you all the best ❤️
@Michelle Andino fellow MS too, hope you’re doing alright ❤️
Check out mindchange by heather mckean.
These other YouTubers out here selling product after product and Dr. Dray out here promoting healthy lifestyles, libraries, reducing social media consumption and practicing empathy for others…..Dr. Dray for president ❤️🇺🇸
She is sadly a rare breed these days.
Mean people suck!
She has taught me how to take care of skin throughout these past like 3 years!…and for 🆓 so I love her and this channel 🤝🏼
Thank you so much for addressing the chronic pain issue. Many people suffer so much alone. I was run over by a van accidentally a long time ago and my injuries had my in pain 24/7 for years – until I started moving daily and taking better care of myself. The pain is a lot less now, and you don’t realize how being in pain all the time takes a huge mental toll
I thank you so much as someone with a chronic illness. You are always so sensitive to others. 💜💜💜
I think you should be invited for talks to universities and high schools. <3 You hit the nail on the head with the toxic coworkers. I have left working at toxic lab environments. No matter the pay. It really messed and still messes with my mental health.
I hated many of my coworkers at my last job. I felt like I was in high school again
As you were talking about empathizing, I couldn’t help but think that’s what makes you such a great doctor. Your actual patients are lucky to have you, and I’m grateful you’re on YT, so we as a larger audience get to have your wisdom too. Thank you for everything, Dr. Dray! You’re right–cognition / health is where it’s at ;)
Thank you for addressing the stigma on aging as well as the attention span and mobility issues. I’m one of your 70 year old subs & have learned so much from your vids through the years. I have incorporated so many of the products you review and it has made a world of difference in the quality of my skin as well as remind me to continue working out! Thank you again! ❤
I’m also 70 and have learned so much from her; I love that she doesn’t just target a young audience but all of us.
@Oksana ML I feel the same as you ❤️
Thank you for addressing chronic pain. Most of us cp suffer thru a lot of negatively in life. From taking our careers, people losing friendships, social lives, and the people who just can’t understand or believe us. It can be exhausting in all aspects. Love your videos and hope you have a great weekend!
Thanks Dr. D. As a chronic pain sufferer from RA and peripheral neuropathy, I so appreciate you empathy and ‘pep talk’ on the importance of exercise. I’m 63 and dance in my home almost every day. I’ve never watched TikTok and never will!😂
Thanks for your kindness regarding chronic pain, it really is the worst you can imagine it to be. It robs you, punishing you and it never every stops. Most people, friends, family never invest to learn more about my illness, they simply want me to be better. When a disease controls every inch of you life, trying to educate others is just too difficult. Thanks again, you’re my beacon when days are rough xo
this might sound silly but I’m 23 and got diagnosed with MS last year and just finished my first year of immunosuppressants, and this channel has helped me so much to redirect my attention and energy into something i can to some degree control: my skin :) thank you Dr Dray!! it’s hard not to feel suffocated by stress and sadness and grief, and i still do, but having another area of life to devote time and attention to is priceless
