    1. Definitely. I’ve had systemic chronic pain for 9 years. It’s wreaked havoc on my skin, despite all my best efforts.

  1. This last three months has terribly aged me. For one thing- six hours of sleep a night for month- no bueno! 💜💜💜

  2. I personally believe driving daily on interstates and cities that are extremely busy will age a person. Stress causing autonomic nervous system to get out of balance and be a contributor of sympathetic dominance! 👍🏻

    1. Not if you let Tesla FSD chauffeur you!!! One ride is all it takes…You’ll never want to drive yourself again. Stress-free, totally relaxing, and most importantly, safer. I absolutely LOVE my FSD and use it 99.999% of the time!

    2. I used to drive cross country single-handedly, east coast to west, south to north, not a care in the world, until one day someone said something that rattled me so badly I had a panic attack in the middle of the interstate, stuck smack dab in the middle of six lanes. I couldn’t keep my foot on the gas, because I was shaking so hard. People were honking and screaming past me. No matter how many times I’ve tried, I’ve never been able to drive on the interstate since.

  3. So on point for me today! I feel like I was hardwired with stress, and I can’t remember when I last had a natural sleep/wake cycle. I feel like I’ve aged ten years in the last two. Thank you for the scientific explanation of the root cause. 🙏

    1. Same. These last few years have been frightening. It’s affecting people’s mental health and our physical health.

But it has improved my prayer life.🙏

  4. Insomnia and stress have been bugbears my entire life. Best advice I have is to find something positive to look forward to, especially some activity that you have 100% control over. Don’t pick something hypothetical or something you just wish for; think of some good thing you are going to do in the near future. My life is quiet, so examples for me would be decluttering the garage or mowing the yard or buying and planting cool season annuals (sweet peas and nasturtiums grow in the winter here in Houston).

Another essential is time outdoors. You can go in your backyard and just chill, or take your dogs out. Nature is HUGE in destressing.

Lately I have been rereading the short stories of Kurt Vonnegut. His spare style relaxes me. Also the study of probability in math relaxes me so, so much because it makes me feel as if the world makes sense even if just for a few minutes. Same with chemistry…just start reviewing old chemistry books and balancing equations. Solving problems like that just feels so complete, as if a little loose wire in my mind were being reconnected.

Of course the best is a clear conscience and an active prayer life. Get right with God. Stress is always linked at the deepest level with fear.

  5. I have been through so much this past year & I can see how stress has affected my whole body, physically & mentally! Thank you for a great video! ❤️

  6. Dealing with many obstacles during my life has caused me a lot of stress, I have systemic lupus so I deal with chronic pain. I’m a night owl and am lucky to get 6 hours of sleep. I work 10-11 hours a day. I should look like I’m 100!! Lol! By some miracle , I don’t. I’m much better about managing stress now than I was a few years ago. I know I don’t get enough sleep but I’m working on it. Great topic, Dr Dray! Happy Tuesday!! Hope you have a blessed evening. 💛

  7. WOW I’m hearing a lot of comments on here I can surely relate to! Between the crazy drivers, the mess the world is in today, & unable to sleep!

  8. Love how I watched this on the day where wildfires took over California for the season, thanks for the reminder to relax.
