Same as on your face or on your scalp : use Ketoconazole shampoo (Nizoral) and let it sit for 5-10 min. Rinse thoroughly and repeat 2 to 3 times a week. Malassezia furfur won’t survive this treatment.
This makes so much sense, when I sometimes (now very rarely) get this it’s also itchy and just doesn’t go away with lotion. Benzoyl peroxide would make it worse by drying it out more, salicylic acid does a good job for me
I’ve had hypopigmentation after treating seborrheic dermatitis with ketoconazole, but the color never fully returned, and it’s been almost 3 years. Now, I have discoloration on my face, especially around my sideburns.
Thank you! I never knew
How to treat this in ears dr. Dray? Thanks

I have to use Nizoral every day on my face for this. I still get peeling every few weeks where my whole face just sloughs off
I have it on my ears I have to use sulfur soap two times a week or depending if I oil/sweat alot during the day.
Yeah, in the ears?
Dont have flaky skin at the area. But have sebaceous filaments
Salicylic acid is great for that or a retinol.

Can anything fix it/what makes it worse? Can red skin and pigmentation that accompany it be fixed?
Gorgous
This happens constantly where my eyebrows grow
Thank you for sharing, Dr. Dray!!! ❤😊
Dr Dray has heard of Cilla Black?
It’s the strand of the hair in the nose that bothers me 😭
Thank you for showing how the condition looks on darker skin tones, Dr .Dray❤

I finally went to the dermatologist a few days ago and was diagnosed with this and rosacea.
If only I’d known this 30 years ago…
