  1. Oh, thank god this kid didn’t live during the 70s. The assault on his poor, tender nostrils!

    1. @jimbob6969. Yeah fr why diss him when he’s only caring for hygiene? Besides, he said he never let his armpit hair get “too long”, not that he’s totally against having hair, if that’s what you’re mad about.

    2. boomer💀 i can’t imagine how bad you smell and play it off as “when i was young deodorant wasn’t a damn thing👴”

  2. Taking a shower and putting on deodorant probably is more important than shaving yourself bald. It’s like waxing your head so that you no longer trap sweat or odors in there lol.

    1. Agreed, I wear antiperspirant, so I don’t sweat for a couple of days under my arms and I never deal with odors even though I don’t shave my pits.

    2. @@Thepeanutcollector yes but I find people tend to kinda use it as a scare tactic to keep you from deciding to keep your body hair when all you really have to do is make sure you shower and are applying anti-perspirant. Unless you are chronically sweating because of predisposed condition, but for the average joe the only reason to be to trim or shave is because they want to. Also just wanted to say I’m speaking as a woman. No idea how it is for someone with more testosterone than me.

    3. @@RambleMavenyou don’t sweat for a couple of DAYS?! I need to know what this antiperspirant is please! I hate being so sweaty 😂

  3. Idk I’m less sweaty and sticky when I don’t shave because I find that the hair allows more air flow in the nether regions.

    1. No they don’t. In many European countries even women don’t shave it. Nothing to do with hygiene, BTW. Take regular showers!

    2. Maybe they mean “ordinary grooming.” Like not letting your nostril hair grow till it’s spouting out your nose. I definitely think hairy armpits look gross on everybody, male or female.

  4. To all the people saying you can have hairy armpits, but you won’t smell if you shower & use antiperspirant: that antiperspirant can’t all get to where it needs to go (i.e. your skin) if there’s a lot of hair in the way.

    1. While you are correct, hair or no hair, deodorant itself isn’t going to eliminate odor. Deodorant just masks the smell. I like to use the Ordinary’s glycolic acid toner on my pits once a week to kill some of the bacteria. But, once again, hair or no hair, the results are gonna be the same if you don’t know how to properly get rid of the odor causing bacteria.

    2. That doesn’t sound true. A good aluminum deodorant applied overnight will absorb just fine into your skin to help prevent sweat and odor.

    3. I just hate how much of a residue it leaves on the hair and skin. Very difficult to remove with regular soap. But I figured out solution. Use a makeup cleansing balm on armpits and rinse or wipe off. Then wash with a clarifying shampoo as this can help further remove buildup and residues. Follow with normal body wash and it should help that annoying film.

  5. I’ve been doing this for years and it definitely helps. Plus nobody sees your underarms on a normal basis anyway

  6. Nope I refuse to shave! Body hair is natural and if you shower and wear deodorant you’re fine 😊. I sweat way more when I shave and it’s uncomfortable

    1. @@lauren8627 It’s a personal thing for that. Some people barely have any so they don’t care. I don’t have a lot but its thick so I feel you. If I don’t I’m literally in pain and have irritated skin constantly.

    2. Some people are hairier than others, some people sweat more. It just depends. But this guy isn’t shaving, just trimming. I think it’s fine

  7. I didn’t think getting rid of body hair to an extreme sense is necessary. I think trimming is more practical approach. Hair is on our bodies for a reason. People that suffer from HS, this is not a good option shaving wise.

    1. Yes me too. I stopped sweating and smelling so frequently when I stopped shaving. I think everyone is different in that regard. I use anti transpirants but they did very little when I shaved.

  8. I have to get a brazilian and i have to shave my leg hair. My hair is extremely course and penetrates the fabric of the clothes i wear. Its also curly and acts like velcro. This constant pulling causes extreme skin irritation. If you deal with the same, you will find constant grooming and hair removal the best solution for your skin. Please note: the Brazilian hurts less than the legs. Always make sure the wax used is hard wax. Soft wax should only be used for clean up of strays left behind.

  9. It really depends on the person and what kind of body odor issues, hormones etc you have. I realized a significant improvement in underarm sweat and smell when I stopped shaving. If I get clean, my pits are clean and I don’t stink. Very simple. But! mind you, I am not prone to excessive sweating and I don’t have any skin imbalances, medical conditions or issues with bacteria in that area. For some people hair removal can certainly be helpful. But this dude has some issues claiming this is true for everyone. Shaving can also cause micro cuts and tears in the skin which makes it easier for bacteria to enter the skin barrier.

It’s similar to the “everyone needs to wash their hair just once a week!” Claim. While true for some, others might need to wash daily or might be able to have longer periods of time having it unwashed. I wash my hair everyday and I wish I had stopped listening to the “wash it less often!” crowd way sooner.

Basically: try out what works for you, give friendly advice but accept that not everyone is the same

  10. This is stupid. We shouldn’t be encouraging people to shave all the time, there are risks to shaving as well.
