    1. i’d like to see your reaction to a trad goth with multiple facial piercings considering how overdramatic you are about a tiny little septum ring

  1. Thank you, Dr. Dray!! I appreciate people trying to help others with advice, but I’d rather have your knowledge and expertise to confirm or debunk said advice to be on the safe side. šŸ˜šŸ‘

  2. My skin is very oily and acne prone. In the mornings my face looks like an oil slick, so definitely have to wash šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

    1. Yup me too, gotta wash in the morning, and these gentle cleanser stuff, with oily skin gives me spots.

We’ve got the wash the oil off our face, it’s excess oil, My face isn’t dehydrated either. I do wash my face in the morning and not at night (if I haven’t worn makeup) so I guess I’m still doing “once a day” most times.

  3. My teen saw one of these wash-once-a-day tiktoks and proceeded to become very anxious about ā€œdisruptingā€ her skin barrier. Her acne got out of control. For a year, I proceeded to spend over $1,000 on OTC acne products, systems and tools like the blue light wands. Finally, took her to a dermatologist who explained that her skin barrier is just fine, and told her to use a birth control pill plus clindamycin benzoyl peroxide combo cream and wash twice a day. It worked. Now when she breaks out, guess why: She stopped washing her face twice a day.

    1. “Just use birth control”. Ugghh if I hear that advice one more time. I did that and my blood pressure went through the roof, and I was so depressed.

    2. Birth control shouldn’t be the solution. Women often break out just the same when getting off before they start or much worse.

    3. My daughter too. She is very athletic and sweats a lot naturally too, so she has to wash her face twice a day too in order to keep the majority of her acne at bay. Before she was washing her face twice a day, it got to a point where she developed ā€œfungal acneā€ (aka fungal folliculitis) and we didn’t even know it until we had it properly diagnosed. She has been on tretinoin for some time now, but even with that, she must wash twice a day or else it comes back.

  4. I wash my face one time a day @ night while showering. Mornings I splash face w cool water and pat dry! My skin is soo much happier w this routineā¤

  5. I wash my face just once a day in the shower and that’s it. My mom has perfect skin and that’s all she’s ever done all her life, so I figured I should finally give it a shot. I no longer have that tight feeling caused by dryness around my mouth and eyes anymore. I also saw a reduction in break out frequency after a few weeks, even though I have an oily t zone. I think it’s good to reevaluate your skin care routine every 5 years because a lot can change in that time. I know my skin care needs were definitely different from when I was 14 to 19, then 24-29. That pattern is still holding true for me to this day.

  6. I used to be SO oily, I would wash my face with salicylic acid based cleanser in the morning, and an EXFOLIATING cleanser in the pm. That made me break out like HECK, made me even more oily, so I’d wash my face more and more and … Well, it was hell. I stopped all that and now I can’t even believe sometimes how SO NOT OILY my face is throughout the day

  7. I have tried not washing my face but only using water, nope it’s not for me.. I’m older and have dry skin but if I don’t wash my face right I start getting small breakouts. I use a gentle wash.
