    1. @@DrDrayzday You don’t have any videos on wigs? Having androgenic alopecia (generational in my genetics), I am interested in learning about wig options from a dermotologist. Dermatology prescribed me spironolactone, and I would rather have a physical hair aid, than the side effects and potential kidney trouble from spironolactone, but dermatology doesn’t consult about wigs.

  1. My super thick hair thinned somewhat at menopause, then recently ( many years down the road) it’s started falling out again. I started shampooing with Nizoral – which Dr Dray has mentioned may be helpful, and it worked for me. So grateful for this channel! Thanks Dray! πŸ’•

  2. Love scalp massage! There is a cosmetology school near us that will do a scalp massage, shampoo, conditioner and style fairly inexpensively. I figure that even though they are just students, they can’t mess that up too badly, so why not.

  3. Thank you Dr. My hair was thinning and it’s fine and long. I got a scalp massager as a freebie with a shampoo and I brush nightly with boars hair brush . My hair is now thicker and fuller with rapid growth . Victorian ladies always brushed their hair at night , old habits ❀ at first it was scary but now my hair is healthy .

    1. @@kathycrapo3224 Not sure what brand she uses but I think she’s talking about a natural boar hair bristle brush, you can find them everywhere ranging in price, they apparently distribute the scalps natural sebum down the hair strand

    2. May I please ask what boar brush you use? Did you also use a certain shampoo to help with your hair growth I apologize for so many questions I am just desperate My hair is thinning out so much I can see my scalp πŸ₯ΊπŸ˜©

  4. *Important* when massaging your scalp don’t just glide your fingers over the skin, press firmly and massage the scalp skin. that’s the best way to increase blood circulation

    1. Oh man, the last time I got a hair cut was before the pandemic. 😒 I miss the hair wash/massage. I can’t go inside places anymore because I’m immunocompromised.

  5. I have really long (waist-length) fine hair, and one thing I’ve discovered is that if I massage my scalp a few times (for just a minute or so at a time) while my hair is drying, it ends up looking a lot fuller once it’s dry. Not the same thing as it actually growing in more thickly, but it definitely makes it look thicker.

    1. I think it creates volume from friction, I have long curly hair and a good scalp massage gives me a ton of lift at my roots

  6. For my 50th birthday my sister gifted me a stay at a bed and breakfast (with her) and massages. The scalp massage was so relaxing that I fell asleep! Definitely go have one done! I a now at 64 years old, experiencing hair thinning. I have been using Rogaine 5% for about 6 months now, along with a supplement and even threw a scalp serum and a hair thickening shampoo into the mix and have very little hair shedding and while still thin, less of my scalp is showing. Having curly hair helps to hide the scalp too, but I have noticed more fullness in the thinning area which is mainly my crown. You have to throw everything and the kitchen sink at it and stick with it to see any results.

  7. I love a good scalp massage, it’s so relaxing!
I used on of those metal spider-like massager every night as I relax watching TV. My scalp feels all tingly so I know it stimulates the blood flow!
The only downside? My dog sits by the couch, staring longingly at the massager… I have to massage him, from his head all down his back if I want any chance of getting off the couch to go to bed! πŸ˜‚

  8. I just had a 1 hour scalp massage and it was heavenly! They did an assessment first and that gave them guidelines on products used for dry or oily scalp and hair etc. $100 plus tip for an hour and the time flew. Definitely will do it again!

  9. Ive definitely seen improvement from scalp massage. I just do it every 2 to 3 days but I will try everyday for sure.

  10. I love when they message my scalp before a haircut. It never lasts long enough though. Lol! I always message my scalp when I shampoo but never thought to do it consistently and for a longer period of time. I find it relaxing so I’m definitely going to give it a try. Even if I don’t see any visible difference in my hair, it can be a little self care routine that will also feel great and help me to relax. Thanks for the information. Happy Monday, Dr Dray! I hope you have a nice evening. πŸ’š

  11. Decades ago, I went to a cosmetology school in London for a shampoo and cut. I was pulled from the kine to go to be seen by students in an advanced class. They were all from Japan. My stylist didn’t speak English, so we didn’t talj, but, my God did he ever give the best hair massage I have ever gotten in my (niw) 65 years. Tempted to move to Hapan hust thinking about it.

  12. I grew up in a loving family where we would “do each other’s hair”. Basically, scalp massage and brushing of the hair. It is so relaxing. Now that I’m a single woman, I have no one to ” do my hair”. Haha So I purchased one of the $4 silicone scalp massagers and it is wonderful! I was wondering about the oils everyone is using, but I bet the fact that massage is part of the process, is beneficial. Thanks, Dr. Dray for another informative video.

  13. Hi Dr Dray! I have had professional scalp massage. It is fantastic! It can put you to sleep it’s so relaxing. I highly recommend you treat yourself and try it.

I love your content and have taken your advice on multiple fronts. By the way I love that you purchased the pumpkin head scarecrow you now have by your fireplace. I would have snatched him up too.
