How fun having coffee with you at your kitchen table talking recipes Dr. Dray. 🏡 ❤️
hope you are having a great weekend
Too much coffee is not good because it is bad for athlete’s breathing.
Too much coffee is not good because it is bad for athlete’s breathing.
Happy 1st Saturday of 2025 everyone to include Dr Dray, Mom, and the adorable Tybee!🎉🎉😊
Thank you! You too!
Love your new home. It has so much character. I love the cabinetry in your kitchen.
Does she still love in Houston, TX?
I’m so glad I found these 2 comments I used to watch all the time last year and then I just got back into watching back in December and I’m like wait that’s not her bathroom who’s house is this I have a lot of catching up to do 😂
In reference to fruitcake, my grandmother’s family was from southern Germany and every Christmas she would make German stollen. It has dried fruits, nuts and some candied citrus zest. You could look up the recipe and maybe you could incorporate some of those into your fruitcake? Side note, my grandma also made an amazing fruitcake every year ❤
Just Love stollen!
Thanks immensely for sharing with us all God bless you yours Gloriously Forevermore 💚🌼
Omg Stollen are sooooo good.
Greetings to your grandmother
Stollen is so readily available in the UK as is Italian panettone. Both are pretty standard at Christmas in the UK
I’ve actually had people stare at me as I wash my hands. I don’t know if it’s bc I cover every square inch and my rings or bc of the time I take (1-2 minutes), but they look at me like I’m crazy. All I’ll say is that I’ve not been sick in the last maybe 7 or 8 years and I never caught COVID that I’m aware of.
I’m sure I just jinxed myself.
Former ICU nurse. I should get out the old Betadine scrubby and scrub up for 10 minutes with orange foam, being sure to get well under the nails and scrub up to the elbows. Then walk out with my hands up and air drying. It would be quite the show in a public restroom.
In the men’s restroom it’s so much worse. The amount of times I’ve seen grown men walk out of the stall and head straight for the door as I’m washing my hands is genuinely alarming. It literally takes 20 seconds I don’t understand.
Our pandemic taught me that people feel strongly about NOT washing their hands. People, in general, are gross! 🤮 😂
@@TheCompoundYT people sure are willing to die on anthills, aren’t they? Freedom!!! 🙄
This came as a surprise, but I find any slight skin problem heals quicker with mineral sunscreens. The first time I noticed this was with Blue Lizard. I know, maybe not elegant cosmetically, but So soothing. I have pale skin, so after drying, it looks just fine thanks … and works with foundation. My 99-year-old wise aunt has advocated zinc for all things skin for decades. Coming from the depression and war-ravaged UK, skin care Had to be Very inexpensive. She said their family was never without white, pasty zinc. Not a popular opinion, and she’s not a doctor, but is still a beauty, with beautiful skin. Grandad also always maintained a greenhouse using broken sheets of found glass. They were often the only family with fresh produce. They knew how to keep healthy. Totally agree about fruitcake!
My MIL was a retired nurse, and she always advocated zinc for pretty much everything. I used it as a barrier cream when my mom was in my house on hospice. Now I use it all summer on my face if I am going to be outside for long. Old school but works.
I recently discovered Eucerin baby diaper rash cream (zinc) is the magic cure for an itchy eczema breakout. And I’ve tried everything over 40 years
I’ve made fruit cakes the last few years using the Mary Berry recipe. 1. Soak the Dried (not candied) fruit in rum or brandy for a few weeks before baking. 2, wrapping it in marzipan prior to wrapping in Fondant is such luxury, I recommend! Thank for the content Dr. Dray!
The reason, I’m sure, I don’t like fruitcake is the candied fruit & Citron. I think if it was made w/ dried fruit, I’d like it. One of your viewers told how she makes hers, soaking the dried fruit in brandy first. That sounds good.
I LOVE your new home!!!
Try the “barmbrack” recipe from Ireland. You might like that better.
Yes Immensely completely concur with you 💯 even when a small child I forevermore picked out all the candid peel 🤢💚🌼😅
@@christinec28yes completely love barnbrack immensely much so God bless you yours Gloriously Forevermore thanks for reminder
@Mesem-tp7nx 😜😂
My Grandmother used to make a recipe quite similar to yours Dr Dray. She usually left about 2 months to let hers sit. Several liquors over the years made their way in her cakes, the last one I remember was blackberry brandy. I adored her fruit cakes and have made it on occasion over the years too. Thanks for the fond memories.
I love the soft lighting of a Christmas tree ❤
“You lost me at Hello” 😂😂😂 You are too funny! Happy New Year!!
“You lost me at hello” there at the end TOOK ME OUTTT 😂😂😂😂 I almost spat out my tea
I get my fruitcake from Assumption Monastery and ate the 2 pounder between Christmas and New Year! Worth every calorie. I think you inspired me to bake one next year. It’s great to see a young person discover fruitcake. I thought only us baby boomers liked fruitcake 🤓
You were so cute his morning talking about your fruitcake & just chatting with us.🥰 Your Home is very nice & I bet you really enjoy it. Have a great Sunday! ❤️
I wish she was my neighbor. We could sit and have tea and she could tell me her stories. I would bake her a regular cake. She’s adorable.
I’m old and loved American graffiti. Gosh I haven’t seen it in years.
We had fruit cake growing up and my mother stored them wrapped in linen soaked in brandy 😋
I LOVE those wooble kits! I also got taught to crochet by my grandma when I was 10. The wooble video tutorials are the best.
Oh yeah, I love it when the Doc is feelin’ sassy! 😍🤣
My daughter has been crocheting since she was about 11. She’s 25 now and can watch a whole movie and never miss a beat on her crochet. Amazes me every time. Love all the videos.
I thoroughly enjoy your sarcastic, quick wit. This one had me giggling many times. Thank you for the info and laughs in 2024 and I look forward to more in 2025. Happy New Year, Dr Dray!
