When my husband was in the military it took forever to get a referral to dermatology for the dozens of skin tags he had. When he finally met with the dermatologist she told him to go home and have me remove them with a nail clipper. I only got a few off him, but it was too painful. We took him to a civilian derm once he got out of the Navy.
Military medicine is like that and some people don’t have the money to go. It would be helpful to know how to do it safely at home if there is a way. His were always catching on clothes and bleeding.
That annoys me. I work at a dermatology office and if you have skin tags that are irritated and bleeding, the dermatologist should’ve froze them with liquid nitrogen to help you get rid of them, or numbed it and shaved it off if it was a big one. Telling you guys to go home and remove them with a nail clipper is savage.
Gah, I have skin tags EVERYWHERE (and have done ever since giving birth at 26). I’m super thin, and don’t struggle with insulin resistance, so I can only assume it’s genetic, and born of spending a lot of time in bed with ME/CFS, curled up in the same position for many hours 😭
My dermatologist doesn’t remove anything that is not related to skin cancer, that’s all, she only checks for skin cancer and doesn’t suggest anything else, I don’t really care for her as a doctor either 😕
Once I had a skin tag in my underwear region. It was painful. I was set to get a job with healthcare. But it hadn’t started yet. So, I went to a clinic. The reception lady said, “Never heard of skin tags. I’ll put you down for herpes.” I was soooooo pissed. And of course, it was a skin tag and was removed. Sooooo embarrassing.
I removed my husband’s on his back myself with floss. I was so confident because all the research I did but instead of immediately shriveling and falling off in ballooned to 4 times it’s size and turned purple. He was like “how does it look?” I was like…. 😱😅 “looks great babe”. In the end after a week if fell off not trouble.
I used to have several skin tags on my neck and underarm. I found out I was prediabetic, changed my diet (I went on the Zone Diet) and after a year of keeping my blood sugar in range they all disappeared.
I put duct tape over one that I had gone in a week
Thank You Always Dr. Dray!! Love and Blessings!!🙏🌹🙏

I wrapped a piece of thread around mine and it eventually fell off

Dabbing Apple Cider Vinegr (with the mother example Bragg’s) several times a day dries em out and they fall off.

it could be from some common viruses that you catch naturally in the environment.
Why my skin gets darker after taking multivitamins supplements?

Tie a thread around them as tight as u can then knot it and cut off the extra string. It will shrivel and fall off in a few days

Wow I would be fuming. That’s so embarrassing, I hope you told another staff member she handled it that unprofessionally
Wow WTF? That’s ridiculous
NOT COOL reception lady!!
Definitely shouldn’t work there that ignorant person

I have them. I hate them, it is awful 😟
So…I could bleed a little bit. It wouldn’t make me bleed out. Keep everything sterile and clean.
I have one on my eyelid and it drives me nuts. Will ask about it next time I go to the derm. Thanks!
