This gives me hope. Maybe having an oily skin isn’t that bad after all 😅
💙
Hi Dr Dray🌷happy sunday! De-cluttering feels sooo good! oily skin here- but thankful bc wrinkle free so far❤
Morning!
Morning❤❤❤
You know, I had never actually stopped to think we don’t have hair growing off our lips and now I’m stopping to think about it, and I’m laughing how I hadn’t pondered that prior 😂
No hair on your palms or soles
No hair grows on my legs either and I feel blessed once I became a teenager and realized that women were shaving their legs! I just could not believe that.🤔 oh I wonder if that makes me abnormal or if I have some kind of disorder. I never consulted with a physician regarding this, don’t exactly want them to fix it if there’s a problem.
@Sable 711 the only thing I could think of is (if theres anything wrong at all) is maybe low testosterone? I was on a med that blocks testosterone to treat hormonal acne, and all of my body hair greatly reduced during that lol.
@rosalina true but come to think of it I didn’t know that women shaved their legs because my mom didn’t either, no hair!
@Dr Dray hi doctor dray is people with oily skin still need a moisturizer? Thanks
Nothing better than a cleaning & decluttering session. 😊 Nellie’s laundry soda is so good! I switch back and forth between that one, Molly’s and Arm & Hammer sensitive as well.
It feels good to see the tidy aftermath
@Dr Dray hi! Does magnesium oil work similar to benzoyl peroxide for underarm or feet bacteria/odor used before or after shower? x
My mother is in her 60s and still has oily skin. She looks at least a decade younger. I used to hate having oily skin (especially when I was teenager and it was out of control xD) but now I appreciate not worrying about my skin getting super dry as I continue to get older :)
👍🏼👍🏼
Oily skin girl here too! What products do you like to use for your skin ?
I was always wondering if our oil glands are actually sensible “cream pots” nature provides us with and somehow refused to totally vilify sebum. Thanks for your clarification and entertainment, Doc! 🌺🌺🌺
Happy Sunday
Kids seem to have minimal to no sebum production. Is that true? The oiliness kicks in with puberty.
@Zuzana Zuscinova 🤷♀Don´t know. I bet she’s already addressed that in a video.
Hi Dr Dray. Im an oily skin gal and I used be so lost as to what would be right for my skin. I have been learning and trying out new skincare from last year and that’s mainly because of you. I really appreciate your videos as it very educational. I have started to use the ordinary niacinamide but I’m not liking it so far because it foams up, almost like a soap. I made sure to clean my face thoroughly and pat dry my face before going in with the niacinamide. For some reason no matter how careful I am with rubbing the product, it still foams. I have been looking for the best next alternative and I found Paula’s Choice 10% niacinamide but that’s like very expensive. Is there any other light weight niacinamide serum you can recommend which doesn’t break the bank???
Please keep making more skin care videos (especially oily skin video, I’m being biased 😂) It’s definitely worth watching all of your videos. Thank you for doing what you are doing.
You might want to try Naturium’s niacinamidre products. They are sold in Target for $20 or less. Susan Yara is the founder of the skincare company and is a youtuber. I use many of her products and find them gentle, good and affordable. Target let’s you try out the products for 90 days. If you are not satisfied, then you can return it. You got nothing to lose. 😊
It’s tine to refresh and renew with decluttering! 💜💜💜
Always feels good 👍🏼
When I was in my 20s bemoaning my oily skin, my dermatologist told me I would be grateful for it one day. Nearing 50, I can say he was right. I have not a single wrinkle in my forehead. ❤
My mother promised me this too and she was right. She also pointed out the previously “popular girls who had suntans at high school” who didn’t look tbat good in their later years…especially their skin!
👱♀️❤
What products do you like to use for your skin ?
I like anything gentle…cerave, vanicream, occasionally a bit of cerave salicylic acid wash, and trentinoin.
I had oily skin in my younger years and now I get told I look younger than I actually am so that’s a nice effect 😂 scrub daddy is the best sponge brand! You should try one, I actually use the scrub mommy because it comes in a dye free sponge but it’s all the same family. Funny story, I remember having the same security tag issue once as a kid and we tried cutting it off and obviously got ink everywhere lol but I’m sure there’s a video nowadays on YouTube with instructions on how to remove, good luck!
Same. My granny passed away when she was 88 and her skin had started to wrinkle when she was in her late 60s. My mother is over 65 and even when she almost never uses any skin product, her skins looks at least as if she was 50. I’m 40 I use sunscreen and hats whenever I’m out. I started using cleansing products in my 20s and mosturizer in my late 30s, after I had covid for the first time and I got some dry patches on my cheeks and in between my fingers.
Hada labo sunscreen is truly a godsend. I have tried other products that claimed to have no cast or not feel sticky, but nothing wears as comfortably.
It’s like moisturizer —with a bonus!
The security tag thing happened to me too. Don’t worry that they’ll think that you stole something. They won’t. Just take the pants back to the store and have them do what they should have done to begin with. It wasn’t your fault, but theirs. No worries. ☺️👍
when you realize you’d watch pretty much anything Dr. Dray would post and still find it exciting and informative 🤓
Ikr! She’s also funny without even trying, cause her comments are just so cute.
I was born in 1978, so I love that I can immediately vibe with all of her references, singalongs, and other things Gen X-ers geek out about. She’s my secret best friend who doesn’t know it. 💖 That is not meant in a creepy way, BTW.
Lol. I feel ya. It would be awesome to hang with her for a day! Ima Gen-Xer also 😊
I hated my oily skin as a teenager… oilyness, acne, huge pores, make up never lasted while others had this flawless skin. My mom (extremely oily skin) told me that I was going to be happy as I aged because oily skin does not get as many wrinkles as dry skin. Oh boy, she was right. She is in her 70s and she almost does not have wrinkles, just sagginess. I am in my 30s and I almost do not have fine lines I see some friends already have around their eyes and forehead. I learned to embrace my skin and treat it correctly and I am happy now :)
Thank you!!!!! All major skin types are NORMAL! I hate the way common skin types are all turned into major problems – problems that can only be solved with overly complicated & expensive daily treatments – instead of a focus on evidence based care for the skin you are in. People with oily skin are naturally dewy, look younger, and often have more resilient skin. I’ve noticed that dry skin has some benefits too, incl less acne and often it seems like my skin absorbs skincare tx’s more readily than my friends with more sebum. Plus lol, I get to wear 4-5 moisturizers if I want, so I can pack in more good ingredients.
I use Aquaphor on my lips, to protect against Differin use and also retain moisture – I can honestly say it’s all you need. It lasts a lot longer than lip balm and it’s so much better. Thanks for the tip, Dr Dray!
Decluttering and organizing are some of my favorite things to do in my home. It’s so satisfying to see everything in a designated space. As someone with oily skin, I hated being told as a teen that I would be thankful one day. Decades later and I often get told I look 10 years younger than I actually am so I guess they were right. Happy Sunday, Dr Dray! Hope you have a peaceful evening. 💞
Hi Mary!! I Hope You Had a Really Awesome Day!! That Sounds Soo Good Tea, Being Cozy, and Above All Snuggling with The Kitties!! I’m Going to Make Some Tea Too Mary, and Get Settled in for the Night!! I Hope You Have the Best Evening Ever!! Sweet Dreams!!… God Bless You Always my Sweet Friend!!🙏🐈🐈💕🤍🙏
I hated my extra greasy skin when I was in my teens, 20s, 30s… At 65, my skin is slightly greasy in the morning, but the rest of the day is fine! I’m finally comfortable in my skin. Hurray!
