  1. I would love to see a more detailed video on this topic! I’m pre menopausal and I’m starting to get these all over my face, chest and shoulders.

    1. What additional detail are you looking for? She covered what they are, how they form, several ways to treat them, possible way to minimize future occurrences, and reco to see board-certified derm in person since can look like basal cell carcinoma.

    2. @@howbradknew Were you intentionally trying to sound rude or do you just not realize you are? Women in menopause is a whole different world. The skin you have always had is never the same after you lose your hormones. So how about you be considerate in your response or better yet, not create an account just to be rude to others about something you know nothing about.

    3. @@shortie65 My question is legitimate. You interpreting it as rude is on you. It’s a valid question given the detail and thoroughness of Dr. Dray’s video. Now, if TheKEDW wants a pre-menopause and/or menopause skin video, then they should state that. Her statement is “more detailed video on this topic!” What additional detail is she wanting? If it’s menopausal, that’s a different topic. While Sebaceous Hyperplasia may be a part of a wiser woman’s skin, it’s not the only skin item that changes per your own comment so pre-menopause/menopausal skin would be a Different Topic. So again, what more detail on Sebaceous Hyperplasia topic is wanted?

    1. Forehead and cheeks here and so annoying. And they don’t go away. If they only turned into a mole like I thought they would, it would be fine, but they didn’t and now just look like flesh colored acne or warts. And I don’t even have acne prone skin, yet as an adult halfway to 40, suddenly this is my new reality and I feel so ugly.

    2. I get them on my forehead and chin, which is where I had acne issues. Don’t want to be a complete whiner but mine don’t go away without doctor intervention and she doesn’t really want to help.

  2. I’m 30 and I’ve been getting these for the past 2 years. I thought it was epidermoid cysts. I have a skin picking problem exacerbated by drinking caffeine. When I go after one of those bumps on my face, I make a huge scar… I’m happy to finally find out what it is exactly but I hate having it and knowing there’s not much that h can be done. I use tretinoin but I still keep getting new ones and it’s almost impossible not to try to pick them off.

  3. I started getting sebaceous hyperplasia in my 20s. I have had them burned off for years. Sometimes they go away on their own. I also notice that they seem to fluctuate in size sometimes. Very annoying!!

    1. I just got my first one removed yesterday by electrocautery. What was your healing process like? I’ve heard they can grow back in the same position, which I really hope doesn’t happen..

    2. @@rachelmaddowswife8713my healing took about one week. Let the little scabs fall off on their own and keep moist with vaseline or aquaphor. I have had a few that need a touch up.❤

  4. This may well be the tiny bumps on my forehead, chin and cheecks. They drive me nuts . In the scope of life’s challenges it is time to make peace with these bumps.

    1. One on my cheek has taken up permanent residence and no matter what I do it just stays put 🤯. I’m ready to make peace with this also 😅.

    2. Almost thought these were my problem too but, the indentations in the center are not present. Mine are itchy/burning, and rashy like. And in some areas (chin) tons of them that feel like nothing at all. Just dry. I don’t seem to have a problem with oil, but a lack of..

I’m starting to think it’s yeast related due to some of Dr. Dray’s past video’s. 🤷‍♀️

  5. Tretinoin didn’t make mine go away, but I haven’t gotten any more since being on it for 4 years. I’m happy I’m using it because I’m in full on perimenopause at 48 and the way it’s been going, I’m sure I would’ve gotten more of these little buggers. Thank you Dr. Dray!!❤❤

  6. Its so nice seeing dermatologists talk about it! I have a bump and i got it checked out since i thought it was basal cell carcinoma, but it was sebaceous hyperplasia. Ive never heard about it until then since nobody ever mentions it!!

  7. I definitely wish Dr. Dray was my dermatologist!!!! Please I’m asking you to please speak to an itchy scalp, I’ve never had dandruff, I wash my hair every other day. I went to my dermatologist and she basically didn’t answer me.

  8. I’ve been waiting for this video! Thank you! These things drive me nuts. I’ve had them frozen and cauterized. One had been on my face for 9 YEARS. The issue is there are so many. I am currently using retin-a in the same formula as I used for acne when I was 14. I’m almost 62. I know there are much more serious health issues, but these are so annoying. 😡

  9. Wow, great timing, I just had one of these zapped off by a dermatologist this week. Praying for a scar-free recovery with no recurrence!
