  1. My dry lips are caused by leaky gut or sibo! Had dry lips for yearsss. I am using L. Glutamine powder and my lips are slowly getting better as my gut heals.

  2. 👀 looks really sore. Good thing we have Dr. Dray to help the masses combat issues like chapped lips. Have a good evening everyone. 🌄

  3. I found my perfect “lip mask”. Haha On damp lips: Aveeno oat serum, Cerave cream, and top with Cerave ointment before sleep. Nothing has ever worked as well as this.

  4. Hi Dr Dray, this was very timely. I’ve had dry lips my entire life. I don’t lick my lips, but my lips just seem to absorb anything I put on very quickly, causing me to reapply. Even lip stains don’t work on me. I have Dr Idress’s new lip duo in my cart, but for $24 a piece, I haven’t pulled the trigger. I do know the first step does have glycolic acid. Would your opinion be to skip the set? I thought maybe it was finally a solution. 🤔

  5. The best thing I’ve done for my lips has just started lately: use my moisturizing skincare on my lips too! So my serum and moisturizer then lock it in with an occlusive, like good ole Vaseline or a nice thick lip balm.

Dr. Dray: thank you for mentioning that lips can become sensitized to lip balms! I stopped using my eos balm to see if maybe that would help me stop needing to apply it constantly, and what do you know? Between adding my skincare and skipping the eos, my lips have never felt better and I am not constantly needing to apply something to them!

    1. Do you use lip color – lipstick, lip gloss? If yes, what brand works best for you on chapped lips? Thanks.

  6. What I do: heavy application of aquaphor on the lips right before I pass out and go to sleep. Every night. This is thanks to Dr. Dray’s tips. My lips are never cracked anymore.

    1. What do you do during the day? What is your morning routine & then throughout the day? I do the same at bedtime, but I STILL have chapped lips. Thanks!

    2. @@jrs2024 As Dr. Dray has stated, treatments vary for each person or patient. My regime works for me, yet I acknowledge my regime may not for work everyone. To answer your question, while some days I require Aquaphor on my lips while awake, it’s not often. Mostly during the winter months. Hope this answers your question 😊

  7. I’ve had dry lips my entire life. I’m told I’m a mouth breather. One way I avoid getting any other facial products on my lips is I put my revision lip product on first.

  8. I use vitamin e softgels (sunflower oil) puncture with a neddle and apply to my lips. Works like a charm, better than most balms. It helps to apply serum before.

  9. I really wish Vaseline would come out with 40 different shades because I would never buy lip gloss again!!! Nothing feels better than plain ole Petroleum jelly

    1. haha i agree! i got a few extra bottles and tinted them at home. its pretty much the only thing i weat all the time

  10. The only thing that has worked for my lips is tretinoin at night and tretinoin.
The tret makes the dry skin peel off and surprisingly makes my lips stay supple even after days without using any lip balm… ( i have the bad habit of licking my lips)

Idk why, but tretinoin has been the only thing that keeps my lips feeling good for longer.

  11. Other people are saying it in the comments but i have to say it too *use your facial moisturizer on your lips* then on top put aquaphor/healing ointment/vaseline. Game changer!

    1. What do you do for lip color, if you use lipstick? I dab color from the lipstick on my lips using my finger, and then “seal” with Vaseline, but I still have to apply Vaseline often throughout the day or event. Thanks.

  12. Had chapped lips for 10+ years, and various MD’s said it was because of menopause, a vitamin deficiency, dehydration, etc. Turns out in was actinic cheilitis, and a 7 day round of 5-fluorouracil compounded into a lip balm was needed. My lips blistered so bad, I looked like a picture of a herpes patient from high school health class, but my lips are no longer shedding like a snake every day.

  13. I have a tube of Cerave healing ointment on my nightstand and if I wake up in the middle of the night I just reapply. Works for me.

  14. I never realized Vaseline was so good for skin and lips until watching your videos and it’s true it helps when they get severely dry and I have really sensitive skin

  15. I’m a chronic lip licker. The best lipstick to smooth and calm my lips I ever tried was from Marc Jacobs. Wish it was still around. Now it’s Vaseline. I have many colored lip balms but those are more cosmetic than hydrating.

  16. Nice to see other commenters saying what I’m going to say as well…the only way I’ve been able to get over this issue, even in winter, is to apply my lotion to my lips. I just use my cerave daily lotion on my lips as well after cleansing and then top that off with either a petrolatum ointment like aquaphor or lately I’ve been using naturium lip mask. Been doing this since 2020. I haven’t had chapped lips since! To get them even softer I use my exfoliating cleanser right on my lips as well.

  17. Girl yes. I was there. Mostly was my lack of hydration mix with glycolic acid. Now we been pretty moist for a few months. Omg I cannot imagine if i was scrubbing it!!! Listen to her people!!! She is right!
