Try just Vaseline. The Dr is correct. I do this all the time! It works wonders!
True lol, but at least the Vaseline will help. Honestly the gold bond crepe correcting lotion has been the best on my feet, knees, and elbows, as well as my face….it’s high in dimethicone & petrolatum
Nobody is saying that this is just for your feet it’s not being sold as a cure all for your feet.
She has videos on feet care. There’s this $8 Amazon cream with urea. The name escapes me now, but it’s great and more intensive for cracked feet. I’ve used it since she recommended it years ago

I want to ask, my hands are dry and cracking. I’ve been using lotion and bag balm, but I have two young kids and wash my hands constantly. What would you suggest to try to help them get better?
She has videos/shorts on hands including dry and cracked, that might help. Try a search like, dr dray dry hands.
