Best Peptides for Well-Aging Skin!

Understanding Peptides and what they do. Recent peptide technology in skincare fascinates me. They're effective and have a wide range of benefits for the skin, addressing wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, texture etc. To keep it simple, I'm going through the different classifications of peptides, what they do and my favourite formulas.

Many of you ask me about EGF which is similar. Will talk about this separately!

  1. Would love the see an updated exfoliates vid from you!!! There are so many new products since your older video on it

  2. you truly are one of the best educators on this platform, RenĆ©e. i’ve been consuming so much skincare content on youtube and instagram lately, and this video just reminded me of how great your content truly is. sure, there are scientists, chemists and dermatologists on social media with a lot of knowledge in their fields, but i think you have a knack for explaining things in a very efficient and entertaining manner. probably the creator i’ve learned most from over all these years.

    1. Means EVERYTHING to me coming from you, who has been watching and engaging with me since the beginning of this journey! Thank you so much šŸ™ Big hugs!

  3. Thank you! I have been thinking about this exact topic of late, & have been so confused. Now I have more to go on when comparing different products.

I have been using Derma-E Peptides & Flora Collagen. And Biossance Copper Peptides. I was looking into The Ordinary Buffet w/ Copper Peptides, but I was under the impression that you shouldn’t use copper peptides along with Vit-C, is that true? Or just the L-Ascorbic Acid type? My skin can’t handle that, so I use a derirative of C.
Could you please address what goes with what, & what you definitely should not mix together at the same time? Thanks.

    1. You shouldn’t use Copper Peptides with Vitamin C. I use the NIOD Copper Peptide serum, and they (Deciem) advise that you not use it with Vitamin C. If you go to their website, they give a list of “Conflict” ingredients/products that shouldn’t be used with Copper. There are several.

    2. Copper peptides are only a concern with ascorbic acid. I don’t worry about using alongside C derivatives so you should be fine! Also, if you like the Biossance, I personally think the Ordinary Buffet + Copper peptides is better. Other, non-copper peptides work well with everything and anything.

  4. When incorporating any one of these serums into an AM and PM routine how would you layer? I use prescription retin-a.

  5. I’ve often wondered if collagen-boosting peptides are necessary if someone is already using Retin-A. Don’t retinoids stimulate the production of collagen too?

    1. Yes, retinoids do as well as ascorbic acid. I believe it depends on age and what your skin personally needs. I alternate my tretinoin and copper peptides every other night or during periods when I’m not using tret, I’ll replace it with the copper peptides. As I get along though, I’m beginning to feel about collagen boosting formulas the same way as antioxidant ones, can’t get enough!

  6. I would be so grateful if you would review the brand Herbal Face Food! It’s has big claims. I used one bottle on a spot in my hair and it did go away. It’s expensive so I’d love a review from someone I trust.

  7. Can you use two different types of Peptides in the same application? Say the Ordinary multi-peptides + copper peptides and an enzyme prohibitor peptide in the a.m. or would you need to use one in the a.m. and the other in the p.m.? Or does it matter? Thanks.

    1. Yes I would use both in the same routine, such as the Re: Pigment followed by the multi peptides + copper – ordered in that way because of texture. RP is super lightweight!

  8. I’ve been a subscriber for 5 yrs now, and everytime i need something for my skin i always check your vlogs and buy the products you mentioned. What i love about you is that you educate us well and you made sure you tried all the products you share with us. So you are my reference before i buy skin care, and it always works for me. Thank you.

PS: when is the best time to use peptides? Morning or night?

    1. Thank you, SO much for your lovely words and for watching me all these years! Copper peptides I use at night but any other peptide I would use day and night!

  9. I am curious what you think about Decapeptide-52 (OS-1). It is a peptide I am excited for, but unfortunately the only brand that sells products with it, prices their products too high for me.

    1. Don’t worry I’m investigating one skin, it’s a very new peptide and as always am approaching with a side eye haha! Meanwhile keeping the same eye out for it popping up in less expensive formulas!

  10. Yay! New RenĆ©e video šŸ’ƒšŸ½ Thank you so much! This is super informative and helpful as always šŸ™šŸ½ love peptides, they just feel so nourishing on the skin.

  11. Hi Renee,
    Thank you for the video.
I was planning to order some products from the brand Alumier.
What are your thoughts on this brand and is there certain products you would recommend?
    Thanks kindly.
(I’m 35 so I’m looking to order a full skincare line to help with anti aging)
    Xo :)

  12. Thanks for the video. I just checked the prices of PCA and the Japanese one and almost had a heart attack🤪

  13. Brilliant and so useful, thanks! I do wish you’d talked about peptides and hair too ( a new video?). It seems a growing area of research
